Microsoft has shared a new video for Obsidian’s upcoming RPG, Avowed, showcasing 10 minutes of gameplay footage from it. Moreover, MS confirmed that the game will come out in Fall 2024. So, let’s take a look at the new gameplay footage.
This new gameplay video is more polished than the game’s debut gameplay trailer. That’s good news as a lot of people criticized Obsidian for the game’s visuals. Now I’m certain that there will be scenes in which the game will be underwhelming. Still, this new gameplay video is a step in the right direction.
From what we know, Avowed will be a fully open-world game. Its map will be “denser” and “more contrasted” at the same time than the one for Skyrim. Moreover, the game will have real-time weather and a very advanced character creation tool.
Additionally, Avowed will have a big focus on world reactivity. Not only that, but it will have advanced lighting, as well as next-gen AI systems and physics.
What’s also great – at least for PC gamers – is that the game will support mods. Now whether or not PC modders will embrace it remains to be seen. There is no doubt that there is a lot of potential here. Or at least we believe so.

not much a gameplay video but a demo representation
This game already looks dated and combat looks dull as expected of a FPS fantasy adventure game
From the combat with basically no actual ingame input, the games HUD will be a noisy mess with health bars and damage numbers everywhere along with hitmarkers, there’s not even any blood when you hit things.
I was excited for the next big game from obsidian after new vegas and instead i got the outey soy cringe words. Then i heard their new game is another medieval fantasy game, so lets see how this is, ok it has guns but they are muskets, it doesnt look ugly, lol look at that scaleynigg@ at 3:37 hahahhahahha, stop doing this devs, its like immortals of aveium that there are some non human monsters that are acting black, stop doing this crap, the “orcs are black people” woke opinions are stupid enough, dont make them black, dont make twileks from star wars black, stop they are not human, you would do this if you are a star trek tv show in the 60s and want to save on makeup, in a game however that you can make every character look as alien as possible, there is NO REASON to try to be like a movie before cgi was invented and they had to use makeup, STOP DOING THIS. A fantasy setting is not real life, you dont have to make reptiles black, argonians are not human, why you humanize them? Then it show a black woman in a desert setting, i guess this is where they come from and then another scaleynigg@ with the YE YE @SS haircut that miles morales and all the other modern black characters have, AHAHHAHAHAHA. WTF? HE EVEN HAS A BLACK ACCENT..LMAO. Modern day californian sht and the video in the studio and how they talk reminds me of starfield and how it was shown. Also the environment they show is just a desert, yeah i have no interest in this EVEN MORE than i didnt before.

I love the art design – its set in the world Pillars – and the advanced Fantasy setting is looking great. It’s not looking dated at all for me.
I love ultra graphics settings and these were shown on a Xbox system so PC players will see even better graphics.
This will be on my wishlist.
