YouTube’s member ‘reznoire’ has released a new video, showcasing the improvements that have been implemented in the latest version of the best Wii U emulator, CEMU. CEMU 1.5.4 is currently available only to its patreon backers and comes with improved compatibility for Splatoon, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, improved graphical effects for Mario Kart 8, and performance improvements for Pikmin 3. It really is. These video are showing it with it’s best foot foward but its already improved leaps and bounds in the last few months. The last version where they said super mario 3d world was fully playable, it was but still suffered some slow downs, there’s a special stage where mario skin consistantly changes from reflective to various other textures (gold,rainbow etc) where I had severe slowdown, but outside of that it ran pretty great.
Rpcsx3… the last version I tried, I read about people getting homebrew and PSN (arcade) titles to run, I was able to load some peoples homebrew apps but wasn’t able to get any psn titles working at all, forget about a full ps3 game. Havn’t messed with Xenia will have to look that up.
Of note when I first heard about Cemu (thx DSO!) about 4 months ago I had loaded new super mario bros u and super mario 3d world with varying degrees of success, but just so S&G’s I tried a game that wasn’t on the compatibility list at all in, Bayonetta 2, and was happily surprised that it loaded at all, I mean it was super rough nigh uncontrollable but it loaded and ran through the opening sequence. I’ll have to try again once this version 1.5.4 becomes publicly available next week
