New teaser trailer for ANCESTORS: The Humankind Odyssey, featuring in-game pre-alpha footage

Panache Digital Games has released the second teaser trailer for ANCESTORS: The Humankind Odyssey. ANCESTORS: The Humankind Odyssey will be a third-person action adventure survival game that will let players “relive the early story of mankind with a documentary twist.” The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and is being developed by Patrice Desilets; the ban behind the first parts of the Assassin’s Creed series (you know, back when Assassin’s Creed was actually good). Enjoy!

    1. I wonder how much time they’re going to invest into the buttscratching mechanics & animations…….

      😀

  1. But are you allowed to play this game if you have a d*ck?

Desilet’s other project, 1666: Amsterdam is currently on hold while work continues on Ancestors.

The project is “well funded” and being built by 32 staff at the studio in Montreal. When you work at Panache, no one works on a Monday (!).

On hiring female staff to work on his game: “If the candidate has a d*ck he’s not hired. I’m not telling the story of humankind only with guys. It didn’t happen that way. You need to make babies.”

    1. depends by the looks of it woman are used just to make babies, according to this post, it seems thats a they are for. THATS SEXIST!!!!

      1. These days, I can’t help but take this sh*t at face value, anymore.

I mean, come on, BioWare, anyone?

        1. Well i think that the EA situation was what is called ” cheap labor”.
But Patrice, in the other hand, it’s about expanding creativity trough gender experiences, which i find it aceptable.

This whole “man” getting triggered like the feminist it’s BS to me, come on…

          1. P.S. (Main post got flagged, must have missed something, my bad)

In short, I’m all for diversity, racial, gender, whatever, but the way everyone from the biggest mega-corporation to the smaller indie developer is now trying to shove it into everything, everywhere, it’s just become this really annoying thing wherein they’re trying to look “progressive” or whatever, but instead they just come off as a bunch of pandering sycophants.

  2. “the first parts of the Assassin’s Creed series (you know, back when Assassin’s Creed was actually good). Enjoy!”

Depends if you mean the first no, it was the most lazy game ever.

    1. Eh, the first had its moments, but overall, it was a byproduct of its time, most of all. That, & it was one of the first warning signs as to the changing times in regards to U-BE-SOFT’s (not to say the industry, in general) “new approach” towards the PC.

  3. Don’t let it get to you man, don’t let it change your mindset like that. If you start thinking in racial collectivist terms when you wouldn’t have cared before, they’ve already won, remember that they’re racists promoting racism.

  4. WOW. Hope you’ve let out all the hate you where keeping. Better this, instead of something like “Rampage”.
I understand those point, and even myself agree with it. But you are just puting all in the same bag. Don’t let the ridiculous things the big companies do, affects your way of seeing and thinking about every single person.

Maybe i’m still naive, but i keep thinking what Patrice did, is
reasonable. For me it’s not related to the whole SJW things, it’s his
    personal approach.

Don’t let the rage overwhelm you, man.

    1. Yeah, I know, the IRL SJWs are really just a minor faction of extremists shouting at the top of their lungs, & having their voice amplified by sociopathic media mediums trying to maximise their advertisement income, I know.

But the effect that they’re having on companies, because they think they can maximise profits by being “SJW-friendly” or whatever, yeah, that gets to me.

I mean, I know it’ll pass eventually, but in the meantime, holy f*ck, it really accentuates how stupid the people in charge are. Then again, I’ve been saying that since GamerGate…..

      Ugh, GamerGate.

Ugh, “Gate” sh*t. Seriously, one guy wiretaps a hotel, & 30 years later we’re still calling sh*t “Gate.” I mean, come on, show some originality, people, for f*ck’s sake.

    2. an old saying/proverb etc….comes to mind…

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”….
      -Somebody wiser than many here
