Gears of War E-Day feature-4

New PC Gameplay Trailer Released for Gears of War: E-Day

NVIDIA has released a short but sweet gameplay trailer for the new Gears of War game, Gears of War: E-Day. The green team has also revealed that the game will support DLSS 4.5 with Multi-Frame Gen and Ray Tracing on PC.

Gears of War: E-Day takes place fourteen years before Gears of War. War heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself.

The game will be using Unreal Engine 5.8, and it will have a story campaign, a Horde Siege PvE Mode, and Refined and Focused PvP Multiplayer.

Gears of War: E-Day will also come with modernized controls and movement that will make combat feel more fluid while retaining Gears’ signature cover-based feel. Players can jump, vault, slide, and flank their enemies.

Tech-wise, Gears of War: E-Day will be one of the first games to use Unreal Engine 5’s MegaLights. Thanks to MegaLights, the game will have hundreds of lights that can cast shadows.

Not only that, but Gears of War: E-Day will have lots of destructible objects. In the demo, we see the devs destroying pillars and various environmental objects. To be honest, I don’t expect everything to be destructible. Still, GoW: E-Day should have more destruction than your average triple-A game.

Since the game is using Unreal Engine 5.8 and takes advantage of Lumen and MegaLights, I’m certain that the Ray Tracing option will enable Hardware Lumen. We’ve seen a similar thing in previous UE5 games, like Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Microsoft plans to release Gears of War: E-Day on October 6. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
