Archetype Entertainment has released new game clips for its upcoming Mass Effect-style sci-fi adventure game, EXODUS. So, if you are a big Mass Effect fan, you should definitely check them out.
EXODUS is the debut game from RPG creator James Ohlen’s new studio. According to the devs, this will be a next-generation, story-driven RPG that marries cinematic storytelling with deep emotional impact, featuring broad player agency and modern AAA gameplay. The story is fueled by the consequences of player choices due to the impact of Time Dilation.
In EXODUS, humanity has escaped a dying Earth and found a new home in a dangerous galaxy. You play as The Traveler, humanity’s last hope. Your mission is to steal alien weapons and technology from the Celestials, the most powerful beings in the universe, and humanity’s biggest enemy. But there’s a catch – Time Dilation.
When Travelers go on their journey in EXODUS, they age much more slowly because of Time Dilation. Meanwhile, the people they leave behind, like friends, family, and companions, age much faster. When Travelers return home, they might find that years or even decades have passed. The friends they left behind could have lived full lives, grown old, or even passed away while they were gone.
The new gameplay clips show off the main protagonist exploring through crystal cave passages alongside companions Salt the Octopus and Elise. They also show the Molten Depths and Persepolis. Plus, we get a glimpse at the game’s stealth and conversation mechanics.
Archetype Entertainment plans to release EXODUS in 2027. However, there isn’t a specific ETA for when it will come out. We also don’t have any PC specs to share.
Needless to say, these are WIP gameplay videos. And, since the game is far from being complete, they do not reflect the quality of the final product. Still, they can give you an idea of what the devs aim to create.
Enjoy the gameplay clips and stay tuned for more!
