We’ve heard a lot about DirectX 12 from Microsoft and a little about Mantle from AMD, but not much about Vulkan. The Khronos Group hosted a press conference and released a video of it on their Youtube Video.
IF you don’t know what Vulkan is, Vulkan is glNext rebranded. glNext is the successor to OpenGl. Vulkan is an entire rework of the OpenGL graphics Api.

It’s Vulkan, with a ‘k’. We’ve been over this ^^ (or was that article written by a different author? Can’t remember; pretty sure it was on this site, though…)
Anyway… I’m really looking forward to Vulkan. It’s pretty much Mantle, but not exclusive to AMD hardware – and multiplatform (Win, Linux, Android… and some day MacOS, probably).
I can see this being great for the future VMware and SL.
