Modder ‘DeadpoolMKD’ has released two new gameplay videos for his upcoming mod, Grand Theft Auto Carcer City. These videos showcase 30 minutes of new gameplay footage from it. So, if you were looking forward to it, I highly recommend watching them.
Grand Theft Auto Carcer City aims to have the biggest and most detailed city ever seen in the 3D-era GTA games. The story follows a former police officer who gets pulled into Carcer City’s dangerous criminal world. The city is falling apart—businesses are closing, important systems are failing, gangs are taking control, and staying alive is never guaranteed.
Going into even more details, the mod drops players into a completely reimagined world inspired by Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and the dark levels from Manhunt. Every street will show signs of struggle, from broken factories and dangerous back alleys to glowing neon bars trying to survive in the ruins. The story takes place in 2001 and features an original plot set in the harsh, violent world of Carcer City. You’ll explore a city filled with gangs, corruption, and people fighting to get by. In this broken place, the only way to rise is to be tough enough to take every chance you get.
The modder plans to release a demo for Grand Theft Auto Carcer City on March 9th. In my opinion, he should have waited until the demo was ready before showing the project. Take-Two and Rockstar have shut down many mods in the past. If he had waited, players could have downloaded and shared the demo even if the project got taken down later. I understand that he wants to build hype with these videos, but the smarter move would have been to wait until the demo was actually out.
For what it’s worth, Take-Two and Rockstar have not sent him a DMCA yet. So, there is a chance we will still get the demo. It would be funny if the companies sent him a DMCA notice a week before the mod comes out. That would be a really cruel thing to do. But hey, this is Take-Two we’re talking about.
Speaking of GTA: San Andreas, here are some other cool mods for it. Multi Theft Auto is an open-source software project that adds full online support to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Modders are also experimenting with RTX Remix Path Tracing. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Mission Maker is another cool mod that lets you create your own missions. And then we have the SA_DirectX 3.0 Beta Overhaul Mod that adds SSR, SSAO, and Rain Drops. Finally, you can download this mod that allows you to play it in VR.
Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
