Gears of War Judgment feature

Here’s Gears of War: Judgment running on PC via the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia

YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ has shared a video, showcasing Gears of War: Judgment running on PC via the Xbox 360 emulator, Xenia. The YouTuber used Xenia’ latest Canary version which came out last month, so this will give you an idea of how the game currently runs with this emulator.

In order to capture the following gameplay footage, reznoire used an Intel Core i9-12900k with an ASUS ROG Strix 3080 White Edition and 32GB of DDR5 5200Mhz RAM.

Now as we can see, Xenia is still unable to emulate Gears of War: Judgment with constant 60fps on PC. From the looks of it, both the CPU and the GPU are underused. As such, there is a bottleneck somewhere else (most likely a code issue) that prevents the emulator from offering a smooth gaming experience.

As we’ve already reported, there is a program that can add Keyboard and Mouse support to Xenia. Thus, in theory, you can play this Gears of War game on PC with a keyboard and mouse (though you won’t have any K&M on-screen prompts).

Gears of War: Judgment is a spin-off of the Gears of War series and a prequel to the entire franchise. The game follows Damon Baird, Augustus Cole and their squad Kilo as they are put on trial for disobeying orders. This game came out exclusively on Xbox 360 in 2013. And no, Epic Games and Microsoft never bothered porting it to the PC. It’s a bummer, but it is what it is.

Speaking of Xenia, the emulator can at least run Red Dead Redemption smoothly. That is of course when using a high-end PC system. Still, and since Rockstar has skipped the PC for the upcoming re-release of Red Dead Redemption, this may be the only way via which PC gamers will be able to enjoy it. Okay okay. We’ll also be able to emulate the Nintendo Switch version via Yuzu or Ryujinx.

Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

    1. Only for the sheeple and shills a region locked paid service that requires to be always online + a really good connection is the “better” alternative.

      1. Paying one month to beat the 3 gears games not on PC is better than building an overpowered PC to play through a glitchy emulator.

Besides if you get disconnected the game resumes just where you left it so it’s not a big deal. I was sceptical at first but it’s decent for games that don’t have PC ports or where you don’t meet specs. Hell, even for cases where you don’t want to download a 100+ GB game.

Such a big deal to be always online right? Feels like concern straight out of 2010.

    2. So you say it is better at 1080p than 1440p and will have less input lag streaming the game hahahahaha and i get a better contnt fp than the video shown on my rt 3070

  1. Microsoft must pay me first if they want me to pirate this game. I also charge the nerds who made this emulator, they must pay me too.

    1. Miss those times. That was before SJW filth started to ruin the gaming industry. And jewish overlords clapped in the process.

      1. Just stating facts, my emotions in this are long gone.

I also fed the machine, although to a very little extent. Feel guilty because of it, but who could’ve known?

  2. How did I play GOW 1 & 2 with such sh**ty gameplay, not to mention 30 fps and 720p back in the day…

    1. Its the embodiment of cool games back then, I play through the GoW PC with that annoying GFWL and even with cr*ck we still need to backdate our PC to make GFWL able to run

  3. Microsoft really dropping the ball by not releasing a collection of all the games like MCC on PC. They abandoned the franchises that made them what they are. All we get is forza. They don’t even manage halo, it’s in the sh**ter now. All they care about is buying up companies instead of using their existing IPs to make a name for themselves.

  4. There a bit slow to the party on this one and to be honest i am betting a bit better constant fps on my Rtx 3070 and Ryzen 5600x at 1440p using reshade clarity and hdr this game and gears of war 2 and 3 run very well the normav version of xenia does not as it needs patches to correct some of the graphic issue,
