Do note that this project may never see the light of day as Poem Studios may receive a C&D letter. Still, it’s kind of cool so be sure to check it out!

  1. Haha, “may”. No, it “will” get shut down. This is EA we’re talking about. They hate mods that expand on their game, why would they let some amateur remake one of their games before they get a chance to release their “HD remake” that is just the original game repackaged?

    1. It’s Disney that owns the rights to the original game, but ya I see this getting taken down immediately.

        1. EA is simply licensed to create new PC & console games in the franchise. Disney is the actual IP holder and publisher for the Steam & GOG versions being sold. Thus, it’s on them as to how to handle this (which is most likely a DMCA sadly).

  2. It would’ve been better and easier to create something like the Jedi Knight series (Outlast, Academy, etc) instead, with the similar combat system and multiplayer.

Basically, like Dark Project (Thief on Id Tech 4) which doesn’t have the official content, making it impossible for publishers to shut down, yet, including all of the necessary and familar gameplay mechanics.

KotOR is a very complex game compared to Jedi Knight, and even if everything will go as planned, it will take years to remake it.
