Night Dive Studios has released a new video, showing the first gameplay footage from its upcoming System Shock Remake. System Shock Remake is powered by the Unity Engine and Night Dive Studios aims to create a new game true to the classic experience, ‘keeping all the things you loved, while updating the user interface and graphics to use a modern day engine.’

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Oh, now I am excited. That looked great.
Wow. This looks way better than i expected. I hope we will also get the second game eventually!
That would be awesome.
Those are some reflective textures.
I’m positively surprised! That actually looked quite good!
omg
Uncannily Dead Space-like 0_0
Which is good.
Excited.
???? ???? ???? ??? ?????? ????? ?????????
I love this 😉
Cool thing. The graphics of System Shock aren’t pretty nowadays. They may repel people and such a cool story (in an interesting setting) gets wasted. This remake is well needed!
Yeah, I got the same feeling. Old games which I didn’t know back in their days aren’t really palatable, but it doesn’t apply to the classics I already played in ye olden days.
With mods System Shock 2 looks amazing as it is. It plays great, compared to the shooting mechanics from Bioshock. Nostalgia has nothing to do with it, because I completed it only recently.
Not really sure why you can’t get over this.
You said that you can’t even play the game because teh grafiks is so bad. Now you’re saying that you’re fear that a simple texture and weapon model overhaul will somewhat change your experience drastically, so you don’t want to play with them either.
That’s a pretty sh!tty excuse for your laziness my friend. First of all, SHTUP wouldn’t be where it is today, if it wasn’t good. Second, testing mods before playing with them is a part of the modding.
Deus Ex: Revision does increases the visuals fidelity, I’m not sure why you’re saying that it’s not, but that comes at a price, because other stuff was changed too. But again, there are many other Deus Ex overhaul mods that kept vanilla intact, like HDTP or New Vision. There is also an alternative to Revision – GMDX.
Revision combines visual improvements from HDTP and New Vision mods, which means most (if not all) objects were remodeled and retextured.
If you read the controversy surrounding its release, you may have an idea why I don’t like Revision and its team, but give credit where credit is due, at least to the work they included.
The problem isnt the graphics but how confusive the progression is.
Looks great and pretty much what I was expecting the same original System Shock with updated visuals. Can’t wait to replay it!
Great. But my god, please do something about the excessive glint and bloom.
Remember when textures use to have *gasp* texture?
Other than that, looks great, cant wait.
Looks good other than some odd pixelation on some of the textures…and the zombie enemy looks goofy and out of place.
That’s not much of a “suggestion”.
It should be, especially for you since you use AMD, you should be used to sh*t graphics by now
:^)
Take my money !
IT LOOKS PERFECT, TAKE NOTE DEVS THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT.
looking good. never played the originals tough. should i give them a try?
