Modder ‘SGtMarkIV’ has released a video, showcasing 24 minutes of gameplay footage from the alpha version of Brutal Doom 64. In this video, SGtMarkIV plays the 3 first levels, and the second Hell map (Map 10 – The Bleeding).
As SGtMarkIV noted:
“As you can see I revamped all the gore, changed some sounds, and added several new monsters since the last video. Now the zombieman actually carries a pistol, and the shotgunguy have a shotgun pumping animation after he fires his gun. You can see the new spectres and nightmare imps, and some monsters cut from the final game such as the Revenant, the Chaingunguy.”
SGtMarkIV also stated that the water reflections are still not completed, and that the Mastermind shown in the end of the video is just a placeholder.
Enjoy!

Dat lighting, so good.
Exaclty what I was gonna say!
Also, the sound is amazing…not sure if its the original or remastered. I am not very familiar with DOOM64
It seems to be the original, can’t remember, it’s been a while since I’ve played it. If I still had the cart I would like to compare, all what remains of my 64 is the console itself and two carts. ;-;
Looks good, but where’s the music? I loved the N64 version’s soundtrack.
I believe this is a recreation of the original N64 version using Doom 2 and GZDoom as a base. Hence the music is not available since its copyrighted, unless of course someone recreates that as well.
Well since the N64 version is mostly dark ambient music, it’s not that hard to make up for it.
Yep, there are already a few music packs out there that tackle the ambient style. For example:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/addons/alternate-dark-ambient-music-pack
Nice change of pace from the Aggressive Brutality soudtrack I’m currently using.
looking good, Doom64Ex was a blast to play, cant wait for Brutal version
People keep saying Doom 64 was good, well, that maybe because some nostalgic factor is influencing peoples opinion, but the game was bland, pretty limited version of Doom because console hardware limitations. This is not another “PC master race” post, the game was plain bad, just that.
“(…)the game was plain bad, just that.”
Limited yes (quite obviously) but bad? Nah, just different.
