Polygon has released a video, showcasing 15 minutes of gameplay footage from ReCore. ReCore is an action-adventure from Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime, and is currently planned for a September 13th release. And as we can see from the video, its animations – and shooting mechanics – are kind of rough, which may disappoint a number of its fans.

Ok si it’s not that bad, they added that chromatic aberration and it looks quite pleasant.
Not that bad. It’s okay.
Its right up my alley.
w10 store is a deal breaker 🙁
Only on W10 Store? Or just a time-limited deal like Quantum Break?
W10 Store is definitely a deal breaker…
idk about that, but it’ll surely be on w10 store, no idea if timed or not
I don’t think it will be a timed exclusive because it’s a MS ip. Quantum Break was different because it was Remedy. The way I see it is that all MS owned studios games will stay windows store exclusive and the others may go to other platforms.
until microsoft grow tired of windows store and ditch the proyect leaving costumers with unplayable games, just like games for windows live!
GFWL games are still playable because the service is still operational. Only the marketplace was shut down.
GFWL games are still playable.
I don’t think they’ll do that. The premise of “play anywhere” is to put focus on the Windows store. If they allow their first party exclusives to go to steam, origin, etc… there would be no need for the store. Plus as Brian mentioned, you can still play GFWL games. I have the original Gears on it and I still can play it. Are you having trouble playing any of yours?
just wait till they put it on steam so you can buy a g2a code for $5.if ms is dumb ehough to put their games on steam i want all pc gamers to buy them from g2a so they will learn there lesson about putting games on pc.
you do realize the windows store isnt selling copies of anything right? they HAD to move quantum break to steam so it would actually sell. UWP is dying before it was even alive. If MS is smart theyll continue this trend but maybe be more transparent about timed exclusivity on the win10 store. I know transparency is a word they dont believe in but they should try it sometime
Goddamn you’re annoying… Such a fool.
Looks like a poor man’s Borderlands.
More like a third-person Destiny in my opinion. Borderlands itself started as a poor man’s version of RAGE, so…
Borderlands was released like 2 years before Rage. So how exactly do that work out?
RAGE was announced back in 2007 but the release was delayed to 2011. During early showings of the original Borderlands, people kept confusing it with both Fallout 3 and RAGE. It became a pretty big problem, and so Gearbox decided to change the realistic art style and dark tone to be light and humorous in order to differentiate itself. It all happened very late in development. If you play the original game, you’ll see some of that gritty realistic style still lingers because that’s how it was originally meant to look. Better yet, if you look at the early demos you’ll get to see it in full.
How exactly do changing the art style make one game into the game that “started out as a poor man’s version if the other one”? Th games had nothing in common besides at style.
I’m not one to judge whether those games have anything in common or not (though if you ask for my opinion, I’d say they do in a fair number of cases). I’m just telling you like it is. People always mistook the game for RAGE before they changed the style. Even Pitchford himself mentioned at one point that he didn’t want Borderlands to be known as a “poor man’s RAGE”. I’d link you the article but I can’t find it at the moment.
I’ve always wondered why the hell Burch was hired as a writer. I mean the guy was just an editor at Destructoid with limited video game writing experience. And moreover, Matt Armstrong was the creator/writer of the first Borderlands… who else better to write the story for his own game’s sequel than him? And honestly I wouldn’t mind if Borderlands 2’s story wasn’t so darn lacking. It got somewhat better in the DLCs but the base game’s story and most characters were just so cliched and uninteresting. Even the humor felt bland and forced. Gameplay really saved it all from crashing though.
As for Burch’s sister, I think she did an alright job with Tiny Tina. Not as great as some folks make it seem, but serviceable.
It’s true Tina felt like she was there just for the heck of it. I guess Gearbox gave Anthony Burch full control over the story so he could add or remove characters as he saw fit. Have to wonder why Matt wasn’t more involved.
As for that video, I should probably go check it out, if only to feel vindicated of her silliness.
Just checked it out… I think I saw snippets of it before. It seems way more vile now than I realized it to be back then. Good thing Anthony Burch left Gearbox. At least we have some hope for a better story in BL3.
Looks really dope. I would definitely be picking this up.
I skipped to some action part with 100% auto aim and closed the video after 5 seconds.
That’s for casual console users…we on pc would probably have different stuff
nothing wrong with that a new fun title for $40.a lot of xbox gamers are looking forward to this game.
xbox gamers also look forward to CoD every few months, why would you use “xbox gamers are looking forward to this”, thats a bad thing most of the time
Nice game for lil kids.
It looks bad. And I despise such lazy animations.
Bullet sponge enemies, set position lock on, Floaty jump controls and inaccurate platforming…
Now we see why MS isn’t hyping this game up and why it was set to a reduced price. Its Xbox answer to Knack or possibly Gravity Rush 2.
and its only $40 its more comparable to a metroid game.
wrong! axiom verge is basically a spiritual successor to metroid and that game is 15$ on steam with amazing quality so whats the excuse here?
Ehhh, not for me. 😐
Win 10 only?
…..No thank you
How? This is the work of a master. To take such a beautiful premise and promising concept that was shown and turn into this derivative, washed down, lackluster garbage. It takes effort to do this.
claustrophobic.
Nothing like the trailer.
Suddenly looks cliche.
Not sure whats happening, with people nowadays overhyping stuff like this and NMS
There’s no heavy use of it tho, removing or leaving it would do near to no difference, it actually looks not that bad this time, but well, if that costs fps, fck it
looks generic and boring as hell, i’d pass even if it was on steam
I was more disappointed by the child-like gameplay of matching color.
This game needs more t!tties. Console-y as hell gameplay, though.
pirate it or use a g2a code for $5.teach ms why they shouldnt put games on pc.
Well guess what? Microsoft will be putting more and more games on Pc and they are doing it for a good reason. They are making MONEY! But keep on beating your retarded drum there pal. You’re the most ignorant person on these forums. PERIOD.
Ill give this a miss.
“Polygon…”
NOOOOOOPE!!!
