YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ and ‘Emulators for PC’ have shared some new videos from the latest version of the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, showing Heavy Rain, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift and Spiderman 3 running in it.
From these three games, the only one that can be somehow described as playable is Spiderman 3. MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has many graphical glitches and its performance is not that great, and the very same can be said about Heavy Rain.
Still, and as we’ve already said numerous times, this PS3 emulator has made a lot of progress in a very short time, and we can’t wait to see what its development team has in store for us in 2019. Perhaps we may be able to play some PS3 exclusives like God of War 3 and Heavy Rain next year? Or maybe Red Dead Redemption?

ps4’s spiderman is a vastly superior game compared to 3 but it seems like they’ve offended you somehow which is honestly not a hard thing to do.
Emulator should ideally run all games even those that on PC.
Nah. Years ago, I tried to to play this Spider-Man 3 on my PC. As soon as the game started I closed the game and uninstalled it. It was too bad for me to bear.
So, don’t compare those half-assed Activision games with the current Spider-man.
Why did you uninstall it?
Because for me the game was really really bad. I played for almost 5 minutes and couldn’t continue.

And I wouldn’t try it again, not even for money. Activision couldn’t make good Spider-man games anymore. Last good ones were Web of Shadows and Shattered Dimensions.

pc is desperate for some games
One thing i hate, among many others, is hypocrisy and lies.
Like WHEN a company like sony, with amazing developers , capable of writing drivers that will talk with the hardware, in 0.00000000000001 seconds, hardware designed in-house, each transistor, each hole, each connector, we perfectly know how it works, what it can do, how much power it can consume, or generate ,
Come and say
‘ohhh, we are so sorry, we’d really love to give ps4 gamers retro-compatibility with the ps3…we did our best… but unfortunately, the ps3 hardware is too much complex, and the ps4 isn’t powerful enough to do the emulation’
And so one day, a guy simply installs a ps3 emulator on his computer, and is able to run all ps3 games flawlessly, upscalled to 1080p or 4k, at 60 or 120fps.
damn, if 1 or 2 guys, with zero access to the ps3 schematics, how things work, which component do what, by infinitely trial and error, almost blindly , with all the protections, all the crap, IF those guys manage to make an encrypted ps3 game RUN almost flawlessly on a computer,
it’s really hard to imagine what a team with hundreds of Einsteins, with access to all the ps3 resources , features, everything, would be able to make, on a ps4…
IT IS OBVIOUS ps3 emulation on the ps4, or better, ps4 pro, is perfectly POSSIBLE.
let’s not forget a 720p30fps ps3 game is like 4-5 times less pixels than a 1080p60fps title on ps4… or +10 times less than a 4k title.
Cpu clock speeds aren’t everything !
Then, a ps4 at 1.7tflops has almost 10 times more raw processing power than a ps3…a ps4 pro, at 4.2tflops, has almost 25 times more raw power. 25 times !
that’s why, despite the ps3 cell running at 3.2GHz, instead of 2.3GHz on the ps4 pro,
the ps4 pro HAS more than ENOUGH power to emulate the ps3 hardware/games.
Like the ps3 not having enough memory to run a party chat app : BULLSHIT
Today, ps4 gamers aren’t able to play hundreds of fantastic ps3 titles directly on their ps4 BECAUSE……..
….SONY DON’T WANT IT.
