GTA 5 is superb game, and it’s great rockstar is doing more than just simple port. But one thing bothers me, GTA5 was the biggest announcement out of E3 2014 for PC, and it’s not even exclusive. So where’s PC exclusives ? I know, there are still PC fanboys out there, that would act, as if nothing happened, but I’m a PC gamer since quake 1 (I had voodoo 3dfx, voodoo 3, geforce 2 GTS, geforce 3 ti500, geforce 6800 Ultra, 8800 Ultra, and now 680GTX), and current situation is far from good.
I hoped for Half Life 3 news, or at least Infiltrator/samarytanin announcement but none of that happened. I’m upgrading my PC for what now ? For goat simulator, indie games, and for multiplatform games (that are not even optimise very well) ? It’s ridiculous that this low end consoles will get games like uncharted 4!! Graphics in this game is beyond I have ever seen even on SLI setups. Honestly, Nv demo “a new dawn” looks like nothing compared to uncharted 4 graphics, and it was made for 680GTX SLI!!! If uncharted 4 was indeed running in real time, it will be the last time when I buy good PC. For games like goat simulator and multiplatform junk I will be buying just cheap computer hardware parts, because why to bother ?
In my opinion, we live in a times now, when Nvidia.and AMD should do a lot more, than just making GPU’s. They should make great PC exclusives for their cards, because without exclusives PC gamming will end, maybe not tomorrow, but soon.
There’s never going to be AAA PC exclusives anymore, it’s simply not profitable for companies to do it.
And thank the heavens for that. It’s the so called ‘AAA’ games that turned the industry into the steaming pile of shit it is today.

Consoles come out costlier in the longer run, meanwhile steam users enjoy discounts. PCs just need to you pay up a huge amount in front depending on what you take, after that steam sales make you save in no time. Then there is mining as well, there are still some algorithms which might get you decent cash.

The only good thing is, we will play multiplatform games with better quality. But with what costs ? Nv “optimised” games runs with problems even on their titans 1000$ GPU, so you could forget about 144fps @ 2160p
Consoles need exclusive to survive, the PC doesn’t and the PC has plenty of exclusives just not all bling, bling ones that are showed on PC for consoles anyway.

For example I’m playing COD ghosts (Nv optimised title) already @ 576p, because just one resolution higher my 680GTX will run out of Vram (and that mess up all textures, even on LOW settings). But it’s Nv optimised game, and my 680GTX is already low end card (only 10827 P in 3dmark11, and 20200 in 3dmark skydriver), but you guys with 780GTX 6GB will not get smilar problems :). i agree about AMD and NV doing more that just pushing out graphics cards, they need games to make the money spent on those cards worth it. I even sent a email to Nv asking about this and i got nothing. PC is gonna be great again when Oculus Rift comes out, you really need horsepower for it. But you have project morpheus for the Ps4 that i think its better because of the camera tracking and move controllers. I will still choose to play a game on Pc if i can but i will buy a PS4 sooner than i will upgrade my freaking old q6600. I managed to play Watch Dogs on ultra and it was ok so yeah, upgrading that will have to wait, but the exclusives the Ps4 is getting and project morpheus make the PS4 a very tempting proposition.

well i think he is right because that is what i think. Morpheus is better integrated in the ps4 than the rift is with a pc. Morpheus already has the camera, the move controllers, the ps4 lit controller. From this perspective they have an advantage from oculus. As for games, yeah, i think nvidia should do more than “optimize” games for their cards. Also, the pc’s “exclusives” don’t move me so much as playing The last of us, uncharted on Bloodborne.

Now about games and pc. I have a PS2, a 360 i game on my friends ps3. I also have a good enough pc. I game, pc and consoles on a 47″ led 3d display. I have a racing seat and steering wheel for driving games. A 4 pc lan in my home for lan gaming. I get gaming. I kinda hate consoles but i pirate what i can and am able to play enything on any console. I will get a ps4, it’s a very good investment for 400E. I have paid 400E for my 770gtx and i feel a ps4 would have given me more. Because right now there is almost no reason to be happy you are a pc gamer. Exclusives ( not talking about indies or f2p ) are gone from the pc. All you get to do with a pc, if you don;t play moba or whatever mmo or obscure indie title that is not on live or psn is get to play console ports. Ok, they might look better on pc but the community will be smaller, the investment higher and the overall experience the same. So yes, i think i would like my 400E investment in video cards + another 700 for mb/cpu/ram to get me more than just lame ass mmos and console ports. This is why i dislike the state pc gaming is and want nvidia or the people that trump up cloud gaming so much to give me something more than just ports with higher settings.

Innovation comes from indie projects not a triple AAA game that has to be dumbed down or to be a sequel to a milked franchise in order to make money.
The only reason consoles have exlusives is because sony and ms pay for them. I expected to be bombared by exlusives this e3 by the big 3, sadly they mostly showed indie games that are also on pc.

Regading triple AAA exlusives all consoles had to offer were sequels to uncharted and halo. Aside from that we saw some cgi for bloudbourne and that platinum game and no gameplay, those are not AAA projects but small projects and let me remind you that suda51’s ps4 exlusive is a f2p game.
So all and all there is no reason to buy a console yet since they dont have those big AAA exlusives you looking for and by the looks of it they also going for smaller and indie projects.

Higher resolutions, more fps, better graphics, free mp, backwards compability, mods, lower prices, control customization, use any controller you want, better comunity, more variety in games, entire genres exlusive to pc, emulators

Quick question, what exactly you gonna play with move controls in vr? I am asking you that because pc also has similar techologies but oculus is used yo play fps, if you design a vr game that tracks your body then you are not using a gamepad thus you are not playing a traditional game but somethng like kinect sports,so you are pretty much looking for a experiance similar to kinect/ wii but with vr googles, not what oculus is intended for.

hey man, i just bought GTA 4 on steam, it was 80% off and started to play it using icenhancer. It looks better then vanilla but it’s too bright, too contrasted and the low poly world still looks bad. It just does not compare to, say, watch dogs or the footage we jut saw from gta 5. Stop trying to make this mod look like christs second coming, it’s not that good.
