  1. Downgrade confirmed. For being touted as a DX 12 it sure looks underwhelming. Generic corridor shooter at least from the limited gameplay. Also WTF would you use a PS4 controller in a FPS?

    This years E3 is just….meh

    1. Haven’t you seen the other videos? Don’t know about downgrades, but this isn’t a corridor shooter by a mile. Heck, this isn’t even a shooter by contemporary standards.

      1. To me it just seems really shallow without real tactics involved, I own the Directors cut of Deus Ex HR, I liked the stealth gameplay aspect of the game once it was patched but sometimes guns blazing approach is fun too, just did not feal as “meaty” as other shooters do. Although the multi-tool was a pleasant surprise.

        1. Check out the 17-min Prague gameplay and compare with Human Revolution. That gameplay video has stealth while this one is more run-and-gun. You can choose to play the game any way you wish.

          1. I did, hence my statement which I stand by. The gameplay has advanced little if any and the downgrade looks quite obvious, for being pushed back and trumpeted as a DX12 title I find it lacking.

          2. But then wasn’t that your original complaint, that it isn’t like Human Revolution? You said this is a corridor shooter. And now you’re saying the gameplay hasn’t changed. I’m confused.

          3. To me the gameplay was fluid and more fun in the directors cut, i never bought the base game until over a year after its release hence to me versus the mankind divided gameplay it looks like they took a step back.

          4. That sounds rather interesting. In what way is the new gameplay a step back, could you elaborate?

    2. ahahahha, downgrade? its the best looking videogame to ever be released graphically. and lol at corridor shooter, smh tbh fam. get a life and stop trolling video games you cant afford kiddo. bet you dont even game on pc. console kiddy detected.

      1. Lol I have a PS4 and a Gaming PC, both were “afforded” by me.

        i7 3770k O.C. too 4.4GHZ
        16GB DDR3 RAM
        GTX970
        Samsung 840 Pro 250GB SSD
        Windows 10

Just stating the game has an obvious downgrade after A LOT of promotion about how revolutionary and gorgeous it will be by the dev’s. Is it ugly by any means? No, but it is becoming a standard trend now with the developers showing a vertical slice of the game and then downgrading.

        1. I BET ANYTHING RUNNING ON YOUR 970 MEME CARD WOULD LOOK LIKE A DOWNGRADE….. AHAHHAHAHA! Who actually bought a 970 but console kiddies finally joining the pc master race family? enjoy your 3.5 gb marketing gimmick card.

    3. I’m still hoping for proper Vulkan support but the way things are going, it doesn’t look promising.

        1. I know, button prompts, he’s just using the DS4.
Some games support the DS4 button prompts, Witcher 3 is one of them for example.

  2. Well, i lost all of my hope for this one few months ago. last years i was excited for it but now, i don’t even want to play it.

    1. Sure why not. the last year’s Augment your pre-order thingy had it’s negative impact on my excitement for the game, they backed off but i’m sure they will get their revenge in some other ways like cutting game content to sell as DLC etc… also they will go for bad DRMs which i don’t like to support that and to be honest the gameplay seems streamlined even more than last one, which is ok cuz it’s looks good enough to play but i guess i will pass.

    1. Well you just showed you don’t know anything about Deus Ex as this friend said. there wasn’t any DeusEx games before the one that came out few years ago starring Adam Jensen. 😀

    1. how does that effect this video? its to showcase the graphics…. you dont need to play with controller…. you know that right?

      1. Because it’s being showcased on the PC, & they specifically point out that they’re showcasing the PC version. As such, they should at least have enough common decency/respect to set someone up with a M/K if they’re going to showcase the PC version, ffs.

I don’t want to see a f*cking Weapon Wheel when they’re showcasing the PC version, especially not after its predecessor actually got a decent PC port.

        1. Is this the first time you seen a gameplay footage shown on pc? Devs prefer to show to showcase things on controllers 90% of the time. It makes the viewing experience a lot smoother, and believe it or not people that game on pc like using controllers.

          1. The Presentation is literally called “The State of PC Gaming.” Note the “PC Gaming” part of it, specifically.

I’m very much aware that 90% of the time, even when they’re demo’ing with controllers & claiming to be playing the console versions, they’re actually running the PC versions on PC’s which may or may not have been secretly disguised as consoles instead for the smoother gameplay, but again, I repeat; they specifically stated they were showcasing the PC version.

When you want to showcase the PC version, & not the “console version” running on a PC (or whatever), you use a mouse, & a keyboard, not a controller.

I am very much aware that a lot of PC Gamers like to use a controller, hell, I even recommend a controller for some games (Assassin’s Creed, Batman: Arkham).

Are you aware of what reading comprehension is?

          2. I’m aware, but I don’t think you understand what I’m saying. The pros of a mouse and the cons of a controller are for the most part reversed in a showcase of a video game. Since the mouse moves your view so quickly it can be disorienting for the viewing audience, and the slow movement of a controller actually makes it a lot more presentable. Few examples where I could see a mouse and keyboard used are super fast paced games like doom.

I mean why do you think the devs intentionally used a controller in a demo meant to be show at a pc conference?

I don’t quite get why needing a mouse and keyboard for a pc is like some stamp, that is needed to prove that it’s the pc version, since the opposite is not true for consoles, as you stated. PC is about choice.

          3. The pro’s are irrelevant, it’s about appearances; you’re showcasing the PC version, at a PC keynote? Then be respectful enough to use the native PC input devices. It’s simple decency.

Just because a lot of us will be using the controller when we play through it in turn, doesn’t mean we want to see showcased PC Gameplay footage featuring DS4 prompts.

By-the-by, It also serves to showcase the level of attention the PC port gets. Human Revolution had an actually good PC port, but so far there doesn’t seem to be any indication that Mankind Divided will be getting the same treatment. Showcasing proper M/K support (read: proving it exists) would have helped cement that, if it actually were the case, but so far, nothing.

        2. how autistic are you? like how does this change how it looks or performs on pc? does seeing controller prompts spazz you out so much? like really? #KYS kiddo

          1. How blind are you? I’ve already expanded on my position in two more posts, which are literally right below this one.

Nice job making yourself look like an even bigger idiot, “kiddo.”

    2. Maybe because it is a third person shooter, and that is how most people, even PC gamers prefer to play third person games?

Well, at least third person in cover, which you will be most of the time unless you like to get shot a lot.

    1. ummm, why is it allowed then? like its a feature, deal with it. are you so autistic you actually check to see the names of people who upvote comments? why waste seconds of your life doing such a trivial thing, then get mad about it, then message me about it? get a life please.

  3. If this is PC graphics at max settings im really disapointed.
Those textures and the lack of tesselation in somethings are really strange.
I hate the overtesselated nvidia games, but the lack of it underwhelming.

  4. Are people that much in love with their keyboard and mouse? Sure I would never use anything but mine for a fps, but other than that I much rather use my dualshock 4.

  5. From this bit of gameplay it gave a very “meh” impression – gameplay-wise and graphic wise as well. I mean Phantom Pain looks beyond this and play’s better judging from this presentation. Hope the story sells it.

  6. >PC gameplay
    >Uses a gamepad.

I was watching the show at the time but there is still no excuse to have a table set up before the showing and still plonk down a K+M, hell there are even small surfaces for sale on Amazon and tech stores that allow you to put them on your lap for your M+K, there is virtually no excuse in this day and age to avoid showing proper PC gameplay.

The one thing we didn’t actually see was if the game was actually running on a PC or not because the game looked exactly the same quality as the PS4 footage shown just a few days before.

I’d have hoped the game wouldn’t look 100% the same as the PS4 version because I know damn well my 980 can do so much more than the GPU in the off the shelf box.
