Deep Silver showcased its upcoming zombie FPS, Dead Island 2, at this year’s Gamescom and IGN has shared the first gameplay video from it. Dead Island 2 is being developed by Yager – the team behind Spec Ops: The Line – and is currently planned for a Spring 2015 release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Enjoy!

Dead Island 2 vs DYing Light hmm I just dont know
Dead Island 2 being made by the developer of Spec Ops The Line….. Dying Light being made by the developer of Dead Island 1 + Riptide…..
So there is a decent chance Dead Island 2 might wind up the better of these two very, very similar games.
Also, Dead Island 2 is going to be Unreal Engine 4, Dying Light is Techland’s in-house Chrome Engine.
Right now from what I saw, I would go for Dying Light. Hopefully, the story is going to be great.
Dying Light for all the reasons you stated.
Techland have yet to make anything close to a good game though. Yager made Spec Ops The Line which is a bit of a cult favorite. So with that being said, Dead Island 2 might actually turn out to be the better game. Also, Unreal Engine 4 is far, far better than Techlands engine.
I disagree the first Call of Juarez was excellent, the sequel wasn’t bad just consolized, and Gunslinger was good. Dead Islands where OK.
I thought Spec Ops was awful, decent writing but AWFUL execution, 3rd person console trash.
I personally hate the feel of the Unreal Engine, its way to floaty and I’m sure ver4 will be no different.
Actually Techland made very good games in the past (Call of Juarez, Xpand Rally, Chrome), but something happened after the financial crisis.
While CoJ: Cartel was just a piece of trash, Dead Island is what really disappointed me. Instead of single player open world survival horror, we got a first person diablo clone.
Both!
Really doesn’t look that compelling…
Boring —,—
“there are events that happen over and over and over again”
…gee that sounds like lots of fun.
Yeah, the way the guy was describing the game sure didn’t do it any justice lol.
I prefer a darker tone my zombie games and why I think I’d prefer the Dying Light.
