After more than four years, Batman: Arkham Knight still looks amazing – Reshade Ray Tracing Mod

Batman: Arkham Knight came out more than four years ago and it has aged quite well. The game takes advantage of a custom version of Unreal Engine 3, and looks amazing even to this date. YouTube’s member ‘SliM420 GaMing’ has shared a video, showing the game with Pascal Gilcher’s Ray Tracing Reshade mod.

Unfortunately, SliM420 GaMing has not provided any before/after comparison sequences, and has not revealed the Reshade settings. My guess is that a new comparison video may come out at a later date, similar to the Call of Duty: World at War comparison video (which I’ve included below).

As we can see, Batman: Arkham Knight looks absolutely gorgeous with this Reshade. The colours really pop with this mod, and everything looks better than its vanilla version. Not to say that the vanilla version looks bad, but this modded version is one or several steps better.

What’s really funny here is that Batman: Arkham Knight with this Ray Tracing Reshade mod can compete with modern-day triple-A games. Seriously, it’s amazing witnessing older games looking this good on newer hardware.

Enjoy the video!

  1. Amazing blue light filter, thanks for the quality article as always John

    REVOLUTIONARY RAYTRACING POGGERS

    1. Amazing technique to make game look 10x worse than vanilla.

The technique that graphics programmers don’t want you to know.

    2. honestly this looks like those early unreal engine 3 games that the lighting was weird, there were no dynamic shadows so everything looks static as if it existed in dimension that light doesnt exist and it has this weird colorization that everything has the wrong color.

  2. The batman arkham knight video looks horrible the colors are way oversaturated, the vanilla looks a thousand times better

        1. Isn’t the 690 over 3 years older than the game? Pretty sure Knight released right between 900 and 1000 series.

That’s a single almost 680, which means you could play minium settings at 30 fps, the game don’t work with SLI, so you’re limited to 2gig, it which is the absolute minimum requirement for the game.

For ultra setting the publisher lists an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 and 4 GB of VRAM as the minimum requirement

The recommended requirements are only for 30FPS, not 60+ as most would expect.

  3. Hey, when did they patch the heavy rain effects back in. That looks sweet.
But, this reshade garbage looks horrible.

    1. Because most of the times it’s fake and not actual ray traced lightning. DSOG should also stop sharing those fake, clickbait videos.

  4. Im sorry, but that COD Reshade Config looks horrible, its so over saturated, high contrast and dark that its loosing information everywhere, I understand the game looks dated and you want to hide that, but not at the expense of making it look like it was wash on mud and sh*t.

  5. As usually an over-saturated garbage configuration. I wonder which brightness and contrast configuration these guys might use on their monitors. Bad taste at its best.

  6. better have a 7700k or far better.
This game brought my overclocked water cooled 6700k (4.6ghz) to its knees. My 6700k was bottle necking my 2080ti. Frames were dropping from 60 to 40 in lots of areas in the game and my gpu was just chilling around 40% while my CPU was staying at 99% nearly the entire time.
