YouTube’s ‘Gamer’s Little Playground’ has shared a video, showcasing 40 minutes of gameplay footage from Immortals of Aveum. Immortals of Aveum is a new single-player magic FPS, and will be one of the first games using Unreal Engine 5.
This 40-minute gameplay video features a number of cut-scenes, and a lot of gameplay footage. Thus, it can give you a glimpse at the game’s combat mechanics, as well as as its art style and graphics.
In Immortals of Aveum, players will experience this visceral and cinematic, story-driven game through the eyes of Jak. Jak will join an elite order of battlemages, master all three colors of magic – blue, green, and red – and decimate legions of enemies with clever chained attacks and well-timed counters.

There was framerate drop during the dragon fight.

the game visual looks just awfull, i have the feeling that this game is just an ue4 ported into ue5 editor without any further optimization or graphic improvement.
ue5 should look miles ahead of this thing, there are games that have 5 6 8 years that looks far better

I already know enough about what the developers want to tell us. lol
This game’s a train wreck in so many aspects. Visually it’s a mess because it looks like an Unreal Engine marketplace asset flip project that simultaneously uses RGB vomit and the early-mid 2000’s piss filter. And as Gieffe22 pointed out, it really does look like it got ported from UE4 without any further improvements or optimizations. Even if it was an UE4 title it’d still look bad as there are several other UE4 games that look way better visually (e.g. Atomic Heart, Ghostwire Tokyo, hell even Hi-Fi Rush).
The art style just looks uninspired. There’s no identity here. You could place these characters and environments into other bland fantasy games and they’d fit right in. And WTF is that hand placement? It looks like the character is holding a steering wheel with one hand. The hand doesn’t have to be on screen at all times. It just looks awkward. Also, do I even need to get into the character designs? The only way I can describe them is as… “2023.” I needn’t say more.
Gameplay, story, dialogue and the soundtrack just seems mediocre and forgettable as well. I don’t understand why EA funded this. Did they need it for a tax write-off or something? Who is this honestly targeting? Who in their right mind thought this would sell?

God I can’t stand those games with very cheap special effects which literally fill the ENTIRE screen.

Damn I miss good old 90s and even early 2000s when many games didn’t even have ANY special effect, and the only hint you would get to know if an enemy is hit would be his reaction. Now how COOL was that?

But the leading actress in this I/we all know very well and she is naturally a beautiful woman in real life, but why does she look like garbage in the game and what is with the “SIR” rubbish? That is clearly a woman. WTF is going on around here. They are so ashamed of everything feminine they want to eradicate it. They hate all things masculine yet they envy it to the point where it’s constantly being misappropriated. This is MADNESS! I SHOULD’VE FOLLOWED MY GUT AND NOT WATCH ANY OF THIS RUBBISH.

Yeah man I watched Yuri over a decade ago. By the way, spoke to a neighbor yesterday that moved from India. Dude told me that im his province, the guy in charge, brought in the communist party. The sir thing for women in the army predates wokeness. Not sure if it’s dependant on the branch of the army/region/country, but I think the idea is that the subordinate “ignores” your gender and only thinks of you by rank, and the default in armies is a man. So in that context, sir would be gender neutral I guess, kind of like you can call a girl a dude, or a group of people with females ‘”guys”
As for the actress, I’d say it’s just another example of studios not knowing how to do face capture (I think I’ve seen maybe 2-3 games that did it well).
Of course, it’s 2023, so take all of this ^ with a grain of salt, who knows what the devs’ intentions are.
