Last week, we informed you about the alpha version of Half-Life. As described, in Half-Life Alpha v0.52 there are 15 working dem files recorded by someone at Valve showcasing almost all of the available singleplayer levels. Enjoy! YouTube’s member ‘MarphitimusBlackimus‘ has uploaded a gameplay video from the tech demo levels of Half-Life Alpha v 0.52 dated September 4, 1997, over one year prior to the finished game’s release. And you know what? I seriously love this kind of videos that show how games looked like before their time of release. The reason I love these videos is because we get to see an – almost – completely different game. Duke Nukem Forever, Resident Evil 2 and 4, Alan Wake and ICO are some great examples of that logic/theory. Enjoy! Continue reading Half-Life Alpha Version 0.52 – Tech Demo Gameplay→
Following yesterday’s LEGO post, today we bring you Lego Portal 2. As the title suggests, this is Portal 2 that was recreated in LEGO by Kooberz. Kooberz is the man behind the amazing ‘Bricks of War‘ and ‘Battle of the Brick, Built for Combat‘ LEGO videos that we featured a while ago. This fella is quite talented, so you should definitely give this video a go. Enjoy! Continue reading Portal 2 Recreated In LEGO→
Great news everyone as Gabe Newell has confirmed that Valve is currently developing the next-generation version of its Source Engine. A couple of days ago, member of /v/ (aka 4chan) visited Gabe Newell to wish him happy birthday. 4chan’s members brought with them a huge birthday card and Newell had to pay $2.5 for the key to unlock it. After that hilarious event – and Newell wearing a combat helmet that was his birthday present – Valve’s co-founder talked a bit with the fans about the company’s plans. This weekend, a number of artworks and screenshots were – supposedly leaked – from a game that is said to be developed by Valve. As with most rumors – that do not seem plausible – we decided to take a backseat and watch how things unfold. And here we are today, with a message from Valve’s Marc Laidlaw, suggesting that someone is trolling the community and that it’s definitely not he. Of course, there are some changes to Portal’s universe (as GLaDos is now a sexy dead cyborg woman). Who cares though as this is a brilliant animation short film, with well drawn characters, cute voice acting and great design. Enjoy!
