Resident Evil 4 HD Project – New Mind-blowing Comparison Screenshots Released

Resident Evil 4 HD Project is a  project we’ve been following these past few months, and today Albert released some new comparison screenshots between then modded and the Ultimate HD Edition of Resident Evil 4. Albert has done an outstanding job, putting Capcom and its – supposedly – Ultimate HD Edition to shame. Enjoy the comparison screenshots after the jump!

  1. Damn the teasing is real can’t wait to replay the game for the 100th time but this time with real textures.

  2. inb4 cashcom pushes out legal rights, secures the texture packs and re-sell the game again.

Sounds unbelieveable, but possiblity of it happening? High.

    1. They do. IF the modders charges for the texture pack, cashcom absolutely has the rights to do so. Obviously the modders aren’t, so… yeah, I was just being cynical.

  3. Dosent the original Ultimate hd edition looks like the modded one if you play it on 4k? I played the Ultimate HD edition when it was released and i must admit it still looked much bettr than the original one .

    1. Nah, it’s still a huge gap. The Ultimate Edition does indeed use better (the source) textures than the initial PC release, but they are more like a 10% improvement over the oringals, looking fractionally crisper and with some deeper details. But they won’t hold up to scrutiny the way this mod does.

  4. never played this before, looks great in comparison, looking forward to my first playthrough with these textures 🙂

      1. Nope – which is probably a good thing now that this HD texture pack is looking pretty dapper.

Resident Evil was the very first game I played on Playstation, which was truly my first experience with 32-bit graphics, and it blew my mind. Before that I was mostly playing Super NES or PC. Ah, those were the days.

  5. Is this really a comparison with the Ultimate HD version? All those screenshots mention “original” textures.
