GSC GameWorld has just released the first official screenshot for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be using Unreal Engine 4, and this screenshot will give you an idea of the graphics/visuals it will feature.
From what we know so far, the main inspiration for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is the original trilogy (Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat). STALKER 2 will be the most ambitious game from GSC GameWorld, and its main feature will be its unique atmosphere. The developers aim to make a really atmospheric game, similar to what the original STALKER was when it came out.
Furthermore, the team will be working on making modding tools so that modders can start creating new content when the game comes out.
GSC GameWorld promises to reveal more about this new STALKER game later this year, so stay tuned for more. Until then, enjoy the following screenshot!

who care about the graphics, its about the atmosphere.
But for this games, the graphics do matter to a certain degree. The atmosphere is a combo of sounds, lighting and environment for this game IMHO

Who said something about graphics? we know will be using UE4 so we know what we can expect in terms of fidelity…artstyle in the other hand…well, this looks underwhelming in that regard.
There is a plethora of indie games out there with mid-tier graphics but strong art styles that look far better than those AAA titles that pride themselves on delivering outstanding visuals. INSIDE for instance

Unreal4 is a good choice, it expedites the development while helping devs maintain an acceptable level of optimsation
That’s the point, the screenshoot doen’t ooze atmosphere.
Take a screenshot of a similar scene in any STALKER game and you can immediately recognize it.
The generic pinetrees and the Unreal lighting certainly don’t hep it’s case.
Really looking forward to this, I sure hope they don’t rush it.

You mean the guy with a big mouth and a bunch of promises the original Stalker couldn’t keep? Where’s driveable vehicles in Stalker? I remember a video of one UAZ being driveable and yet it’s nowhere to be found in the released game.

I understand where you are coming from, and its a valid concern, either way this is a day1 buy for me. Flop or not, I hope to enjoy it. Glad to see modding is a prioperty so even if the game is a mess, I’m convinced the strong fanbase can make something special with STALKER2.
It seems GSC understand the concern also, “Being inspired by everything you do (including arts, stories, cosplays and mods), we fully understand we can’t let you down”

I think you might be right as they referred to it as a “glimpse” at STALKER 2.
Unreal Engine 4 slowly gets to a point where its default renderer is just as annoying as it was with UE3’s default acid puke presentation.
Stalker’s whole atmosphere in large part is dependent on how very specific and different XRay engine looked.
You can’t have a game that relies on visuals to such a degree – when every other UE4 game looks the same

I really hope they copy Escape from Tarkov inventory and movement system! Escape from Tarkov has a lot of things inspired from Stalker already.
A new STALKER game is long overdue. I hope it turns out to be as good as Call of Pripyat and Shadow of Chernobyl. Clear Sky was alright but it didn’t hold a candle to the other 2 STALKER games.
So hyped for this but they have so much to get right to make it feel like Stalker. The mil-sim aspects, lighting, music, bleakness, weirdness. Could just be the shot they used for this but I’m worried about the generic art style from this pic. Oh well it’s early days, games years away.
