Here Is Another Photorealistic Apartment Created with Unreal Engine 4

In the past few months, we’ve seen some really interesting apartments being created with Unreal Engine 4. And here is yet another one, created by Polycount’s member ‘DAWID3320‘. DAWID3320 has used really high quality materials, giving his apartment a photorealistic look. Our only gripe with this scene is the skybox as it looks completely fake and not as polished as the rest of the environment. It looks cool, so be sure to check the screenshots after the jump!

  1. Developers can still make games on PC with UE4, that can take advantage of the latest tech available, and I have no idea why you blame consoles. If developers are not willing to do that, then low sales are to blame. For example crysis looked spectacular, and pushed technology years ahead, but not so many people bought that game.

And BTW. current consoles are weak as you said, but consoles run games mostly in just 30fps, and 900p-1080p resolution + post process AA. In order to run 1080p + 60fps on PC, average port requires 780GTX OC already, and what about 1440p or MSAA(or downsampling)? 1440p requires 2x as much power, so you need 780GTX SLI, or freaking 980ti. So, there’s not much additional room for improvements left, in order to create much better looking game. Of course developers still can make game, that will run 30fps, 1080p on 3x 980ti, and that game could look probably much better then what consoler could dream about, but realistically speaking, it will not gonna happen (because very few people are willing to buy 3x 980Gti).

    1. Not so many? It out sold Crysis 2/3 and remains one of the best selling titles for Crytek along with Farcry. the game wasn’t playable on most people’s PC but it sold a lot considering. Ryse Son of Rome pretty much flopped, so much for console exclusives racking in the money.

      1. GTA5 sold in 60 millions, Call of duty modern warfare 3 sold in 26 millions copies, first crysis just 3 millions. You have no idea how much Crytek had to pay in order to make (and market) so big and PC exclusive game like crysis. Cevat Verli shared in the EUROGAMER interview, that Crysis hasn’t yet turned a profit for Crytek despite a fair amount of success, and that’s why crysis 2 was already built with consoles in mind. If Crysis 1 would sell well, it would be not the last crytek PC exclussive (but years later crysis also ported crysis 1 to consoles). Now after all this years crytek has real financial CRISIS because of crysis series.

If developers would make good money on PC exclusives, we would see more games like crysis 1, simple as that.

        1. That’s not the PC gamers fault that’s their fault for making a game that could only play on a tiny amount of PC’s. The games you said are well known multi platform establish franchises, don’t even try to compare them to Crysis. It wasn’t because of Crysis, it’s was because of their mismanagement of the company, Crysis 3 did even worse, Ryse bombed.

          1. Yes, it’s not profitable to make expensive game, that only small percent of people can play (and big games are huge investments). And that’s why developers dont want to make PC exclusives that could take advantage of the latest hardware, and that was my point in the first post.

          2. Well, making exclusives for XB1 isn’t great either, Ryse Son of Rome and Rise of Tomb Raider pretty much bombed.

          3. You right, more and more console exclusives also cant sell well enough in order to “pay the rent”. Years ago costs of game development was much smaller, now new games requires financial resources like films. Maybe current gen consoles are the last, because without profits in making exclusive games developers will stop making games like that. I hope so, because for me consoles are useless. I bought many games on consoles BECAUSE I HAD TO, but If I could choose I will always choose PC version.

  2. Corridor games could easily look like that but… well, no big developer wants to make a corridor game. And it isn’t surprising.

    1. You mean games like the upcoming DOOM?: Yes it can easily look like that on ultra i am sure of it and i beleve the pc version will look like this

      1. It doesn’t look like this demo because devs decided so. I’m not sure why, I’m not a game developer and I know nothing about it. I guess that DOOM will have more spacious environments and way bigger maps than this demo, also loads of enemies and particle effects. Most PC wouldn’t be able to run it well if it had such level of detail and quality of textures.
Or maybe 2nd option: demos like this one are easy to make, so we can see such graphics just now, while beautiful games made by big studios are in production for a long time, so we will see them after a while?
