Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown looks stunning in these first screenshots

Crytek has released the first screenshots for its upcoming PvP title, Hunt: Showdown. Hunt: Showdown is a multiplayer survival game powered by CRYENGINE, in which five teams of two players track and kill demons in a huge map. Basically, think of it as DayZ meets Evolve. Enjoy!

  1. While it looks great, i wouldn’t really call it stunning. Most games look that way in 2017. I wonder what game will truly make me say – WOW.

    So far nothing does..

    1. And nothing will, since it seems Crytek is too stubborn to pick up the money they’re leaving on the floor in the form of a Crysis remaster.

    2. Getting to 90 percent photo realism was easy. Its the last 10 percent that gets exceedingly difficult. We’ll reach it eventually and new approaches being implemented by Crytek as of June will help us get there. Hopefully after those things get implemented we can move ever closer to the 100%.

  2. This realistic looking games are kinda getting boring for me, pretty much all of them look the same

  3. Clean lighting ! I kind of missed that.
In most actual games this is such a mess but in this one and Spiderman it looks well balanced and makes me want to play. I am done with the theme park glowing lights or color schemes. Thanks Crytek.

  4. “think of it as DayZ meets Evolve”

Unfinished and monetised in a manner that buries its chances of success?

  5. What’s up with that freaking compression all the time? Can’t spot beautiful details in beautiful image of beautiful engine! 🙁

      1. Is that a thing? Why would John treat us like that? Compression is for console kiddies, checkerboard rendering, dynamic resolution, JPG compression, same thing really!
