Chernobylite feature

Chernobylite 4K Screenshots Gallery

The Farm 51 has provided us with a copy for its upcoming survival horror game that is set in Chernobyl and uses photogrammetry tech, Chernobylite. As such, we’ve decided to capture some 4K/Ultra screenshots from it and share them with you.

Chernobylite is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and is currently in a really early stage. As such, its Kickstarter demo is not well optimized (so you should not pay a lot of attention to its performance). For what it’s worth, our NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti was used to its fullest in 4K and was able to push a minimum of 23fps and an average of 35fps.

Now I have to be honest here; I wasn’t particularly impressed by the game’s visuals. Yes, this is a really early demo but I was expecting way more than what was on display here. Even in 4K, the game currently has a really soft image. Not only that, but a really awful Chromatic Aberration effect is enabled by default, and there is no in-game option to remove it.

But anyway, it will be interesting to see how this science-fiction survival horror game evolves. Chernobylite targets an Autumn 2019 release and its Kickstarter campaign has met its initial goal.

Here is hoping that the final version will look sharper, will run significantly faster, and will have more advanced graphics settings to tweak!
