Digital Dreams has shared a new video, showcasing Red Dead Redemption 2 in 8K and Ultra Settings with Ray Tracing Reshade. The end result looks absolutely amazing and shows why PC gaming is so great.
In order to run the game at such ridiculously high resolutions, Digital Dreams used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090. Moreover, they’ve combined their Ray Tracing Reshade settings with the non-RT Photorealistic Reshade Mod.
Now while the Ray Tracing Reshade Mod does not provide native Ray Tracing effects, it does look nice in RDR2. Not only that, but the game appears to be running smoothly. It does not, obviously, run with 60fps, but it’s definitely not dropping below 30fps.
Before closing, we’d like to mention some Red Dead Redemption 2 mods that may interest you. This mod introduces new creatures & monsters to the game, whereas this mod makes its world more immersive than ever. There is also a VR mod that we shared a couple of days ago. Lastly, there is a mod that adds more bounty missions to the game.
Enjoy!

Video is using a 3090 and the fps is still clearly struggling in the second scene.
Insane that it runs at all everything considered 🙂
I have yet to se a reshade that makes the game look better

Colors seem more natural and less washed out without over-sharpness or over-saturation with this preset i think, it doesn’t make a huge difference and that’s why i think it’s good
Call me crazy, but I actually preferred the blown out HDR on the original PS4 Pro version of RDR2.
Not crazy at all, a good HDR implementation can do wonders
Well the thing is it was technically broken HDR lol. But it gave the game an old, washed out glowing look. Kind of like an old western movie.
When I switched to the PC version I kind of missed that look and found it to be too sharp and saturated.
first one looks better to me, I hate sharpening effect, it gives me headache.
I don’t like it too but vanilla RDR2 is a bit yellowish and has a strong blur effect due to it TAA implementation, a bit of sharpening can do no harm
Overly saturated lighting!
The lighting intensity needs to be toned down in the Reshade….
It depends on the location and time of day, though…
I feel like the whole game is slightly unbalanced…
Some scenes are too saturated and the tone is way too warm, others are the opposite.
And no Reshade settings will ever be able to fix this.
I wish the developers did something about this.
Also, the blur and vignette effect are horrible, but I think there are mods to disable this.
Just wanted to share the most beautiful video I have seen of RDR 2 :
