Iron Galaxy and Naughty Dog have released a new update for The Last of Us Part I that adds support for AMD FSR 3.1. As such, the game now supports the latest versions of AMD’s FSR Super Resolution and Frame Generation techs.
This small patch also fixes a rendering issue that could appear on TVs when using NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR. Moreover, it fixes an issue that could occur when interacting with a generator while enemies were still present at The University. Plus, it resolves an issue where Joel’s flashlight would turn on when inspecting certain artifacts despite being in direct sunlight at Bus Depot.
From what we’ve seen, the game does NOT let you use FSR 3.1 Frame Generation with DLSS or XeSS. Instead, it’s tied to AMD FSR 3.1 Super Resolution. This sounds weird as one of the biggest features of FSR 3.1 was its ability to use Frame Gen with Intel’s or NVIDIA’s upscaling methods.
Sadly, TLOU Part I has never received official support for DLSS 3 Frame Gen. As such, it will not be among the first games to support DLSS 4. That’s a bummer. The good news is that RTX40 series owners can use a mod to enable DLSS 3 Frame Gen. The bad news is that it’s a paid mod. So yeah, that kind of sucks.
Anyway, like always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Has anyone else had this issue? after installing this latest patch, the flashlight can barely been seen at all. you can kind of see it on distant objects, but if you point it right in front of you on anything, theres nothing there.
The author is wrong. This paid DLSS 3 Frame Gen mod has not worked since version 1.1.3
They haven't fixed the very high CPU-Usage till now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Depends on what CPU you have. According to the requirements Ryzen 5600X or i5 12600 are sufficient
AMD screwed up again. Like the first time FSR 3.0 was introduced to this game, FG was screwed up by high input lag. Now we have FSR 3.1 and what? Well, in some chapters FG doesn't work. There's simply no increase in fluidity, instead of e.g. 120 you have native 80 fps
