Bethesda has just released a new beta patch for Starfield that adds support for AMD FSR 3.0. Thanks to it, NVIDIA, Intel and AMD GPU owners will be able to enable and experience Frame Generation in Starfield.
AMD and Bethesda state that for the best experience, your framerate must be already at 60fps. Additionally, the teams recommend using FSR 3.0 with VSync ON and with a VRR monitor.
Needless to say, I’ll be sure to test AMD FSR 3.0 and I’ll share my findings tomorrow. Hopefully, this FSR 3.0 implementation will be similar to what we saw in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and The Talos Principle 2.
Starfield also supports NVIDIA DLSS 3. As such, I’ll be sure to compare DLSS 3 with FSR 3.0. So far, the only game in which FSR 3.0 is better than DLSS 3 is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. DLSS 3 is currently broken in it, and we suggest staying away from it. For those wondering, Ryu Ga Gotoku and NVIDIA haven’t released any patch yet to improve it.
To download this patch, you must opt-in to the game’s beta updates. Once you’ve done that, Steam will automatically download the AMD FSR 3.0 Patch.

Very weird since this is a so called amd game but got dlss3 first? I think nukems mod works for this game too so why wait on them it’s not a high speed game really other than if you like the inter world of spaceship battles and farming loot. So native fsr3 isn’t likely too much better than a mod version. Since they have the scummy windows version check lockout on this game I have a little workaround for that so don’t have the dlss2 update from last year, could do it but not worth it once I got through all the factions, all romances, found all or most of the hidden side quests then to the final non ending repeat a thon I moved on. All before they even added DLSS2. What the hexx you need fg for anyways there’s not rt in this game afaik which is what that’s mostly for. FG for people who don’t need it to run the game maxed anyways, without rt that is.
That’s because people criticised their v1.0 release day version for omitting DLSS, claiming it was a term of the AMD marketing deal.
Hm that’s a werid head bow by the devs though, they 100% of the time dgaf about what we think much and this is beth-M$ we’re talking about lol I can’t remember if I used FSR2 or not prolly did. I’m sure there’s been an FSR3 replacer for FSR2 but it’s easy to lose track of all this. Nukems is just for rtx cards since you need dlss2 capable I think or maybe the reg edit file unlocks dlss3 for all nvidia cards then it runs through that idk man I’m having fun replaying the silent hills 2-3-4 w none of that nonsense and gtaV also, games were simpler and funner then.

-are full of DRM (especially if it’s Japanese developers)
-Run terribly unless you have a $600+ GPU
-Need all sorts of tricks like DLSS and FSR to get reasonable framerates
-Are 100GB+ downloads requiring expensive big SSD to store them
-Have graphics that often look weird instead of good, with raytracing making everything look like a damp rainforest and HDR that makes everything look like a bomb just went off in the sky
-aren’t fun to play
