Bethesda has just revealed the official PC requirements for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. According to the company, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i7-3770 or an AMD FX-8350, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 770 4GB or an AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB graphics card.
What’s really cool here is that Bethesda has also listed the target resolution and framerate for both the minimum and recommended specs. Players with PC specs similar to the minimum requirements will run the game with 60fps on Low settings at 720p. Those with systems similar to the recommended requirements will run the game on High settings at 1080p with High settings.
Bethesda has also listed the advanced graphics settings that will be available on the PC version. These are:

- Directional Occlusion
- Reflections
- Decals
- Motion Blur
- Image Streaming
- Volumetric Quality
- Decal Filtering
- Deferred Rendering
- Chromatic Aberration
- Depth of Field
- Resolution Scaling
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will be using the id Tech 6 Engine and according to executive producer Jerk Gustafsson, it will support the Vulkan API.
“We’re also taking full advantage of Vulkan, allowing us to push improved performance across the board in ways that simply weren’t possible before. The minimum hardware requirements are set to ensure a high-quality experience, and with Vulkan players should see solid performance on a variety of system configurations. However, if you’re aiming for 1080p with high framerate and settings, you would need to bump towards our recommended specs.”
From the looks of it, the PC version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will run great on the PC. The game releases on October 27th, and below you can find its full PC requirements.

DOTO follows Billie Lurk, an elite assassin who first came into her own in The Knife of Dunwall where she led a plan to unseat the master assassin Daud and become leader of his clan. Those expecting more incredible character development will be disappointed, because the writing team from the original series was thrown out and replaced with the dregs of second rate gender studies department. Thus Billie, the relentless, remorseless assassin becomes a mumbling, randomly (seriously, for no reason at all) disabled cardboard cut out with a dash of lesbian thrown in for extra repression points. We know she’s a lesbian because there’s all of two lines of dialog thrown in while staring at a line drawing of a woman. It’s important, because it’s not important at all.
The Outsider, that brilliant dark being who mercilessly tormented the incredible hero Corvo and the twisted assassin Daud turns out to be a whimpering little boy who must be rescued from some incorporeal darkness. Charisma? Nah. Power? Nah. Because in this brave new world, even the most epic villain must also be a victim.
Daud just… dies in the meh-est way possible. He was being held in a fighting ring in which he had won 78 fights according to the tally board, but as soon as Billie gets him out he keels over, I suspect simply to avoid being involved in the rest of this unrelenting cringefest.
The story makes no sense, the levels are cut down from previous games and re-used in this game, so there’s really only three or so. The ‘new abilities’ everyone’s foaming over aren’t nearly enough to make up for the **** show – and for some reason the developers decided to give Billie basically all stealth abilities while making combat basically unavoidable.
The only saving grace is that the game is over in a handful of hours, so at least you won’t waste too much of your time on this PC takeover of what is one of the best franchises ever made.

I wonder what that “Deferred Rendering” setting does when you enable/disable it. Does it enable Forward rendering? Does it allow for proper MSAA?
I believe they added a forward rendering pipeline that you can switch to. It may not be the entire pipeline, but only certain aspects of it.
This is probably related to some VR mode, foward rendering is supposedly much little to run in VR.
Two types of renderer, Forward rendering is the newer type. Also, what do you mean by proper MSAA, MSAA was supported since DX10, DX9 didn’t support MSAA deferred rendering. shading.
Forward rendering is actually very old. It was replaced with deferred rendering because of the limitations of GPU’s at that time and the need for high performance scenes with a lot of lights.
Since idTech uses mostly baked lighting with a small amount of dynamic lights, forward rendering makes a lot of sense.
I thought it was newer, games and UE4 is using it more, seems it’s more suitable for VR, forward rendering is better for MSAA as well.
It’s all about more cores and threads now in new games, quad cores are becoming out dated, that’s why even Intel are going 6 core with i5’s now.
Well consoles have 8 cores that’s probably why, if they port it to PC most people still have a quad core and they most probably would make it more single threaded.

Lol no. Mote cores still useless if there is no IPC to back it up (just look at console). Intel did not coming out with 6 core mainstream CPU because of software(s) finally need that much core. But simply because of AMD releasing fast 6 and 8 core CPU. intel did not care as mych before because despite having so many cores intel have significant IPC advantage that they can beat AMD many core CPU with brute force alone. I still remember AMD campaign about “our six or their four” with Phenom 2. But in the end as tested by reviewer intel 4 core cpu still end up beating AMD six core CPU in heavily multi threaded application.

Well, the 770 was a great upper midrange performer in it’s day but it came out 4 1/2 years ago and that’s a long time in tech. I would guess it’s a little slower than an entry level Pascal today. The thing to watch out for is that they refer to the 770 4GB and most people bought the 2 GB model because that seemed like enough VRAM at the time. The average 770 may not be good enough for minimum for having too little VRAM.

Equal in core or thread count, FX series has very good mulithreading, it’s clearly not single threaded game and Vulkan will make use of Multithreading even more.
But why the 3770 and not the 920? Same core count. The 3770 blows the 8350 away in every which way.
No, not in multithreading it doesn’t, AMD beat Intel on multithreading, it’s single thread were Intel waste AMD, though Ryzen still can’t beat Intel in single thread but can in multithreading. Benchmarks prove that the FX CPU in the likes of VukanAPI perform really well, that’s where the most gain comes from.

If “yes” to any of those, then there’s a mountain of evidence that it’s a consloe port 🙂
