Warner Bros has just issued a new statement about the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. According to the publisher, Rocksteady is still working hard on fixing the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. The fact that this new updated version has not still hit Steam proves that its original state was as awful as it could get.
As Warner Bros’ Yorick said:
“Addressing the PC performance issues is still our top priority and at this time, we believe we have identified a number of fixes for the larger issues that were affecting PC players at launch. These fixes are currently being implemented into the game and once we have been able to do some initial testing, we’ll have a better idea on the status of our progress. We’ll provide an update on how things are developing next week. “
What’s also interesting is that this clusterf’ forced Warner Bros to modify its internal review process for all of its future games. Hopefully this will mean that PC gamers won’t experience anything like Batman: Arkham Knight or Mortal Kombat X.
“We can also assure you that because of this latest launch, we are modifying the internal review process for all of our games. For those who are waiting for the updated version of the game on PC, please know that we are working on this every day. For the players who are continuing to play Batman: Arkham Knight on PC, fixes are continually being made to the game as we await the final updated version. “
Last but not least, Warner Bros confirmed that all planned DLC will be released on the PC. However, the new DLC packs will be made available after the release of the updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight PC.
“Our continued focus on getting the right PC fixes in place for the main game has had an impact on the development of all DLC content for the PC version of the game. This means that the Batman: Arkham Knight – Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC will not be available on July 14th for those who are currently playing the PC version of the game. We apologize for the delay and only want to make sure that any content that we offer is up to the standards that PC players expect.”

At least they admitted the problem and are trying to fix it.
Indeed;
Unlike some others who remain in complete denial about “downgrading” anything, still claiming it’s just “part of the Development Process.”……..
refunds
Of the Steam variety. I can’t wait to see the PC version of Assassin’s Creed this time round.
Someone should have the job of actually reviewing these games before they get released on Steam sparing them the shame and us the time spent on asking for a refund.
Talk is free, good quality PC ports cost money so I don’t believe these cheapskates at all.
Exactly, most of the talking is just to win some face back, lets see if they will really fix all the problems with AK first
as much as I agree with you, but dont you think actually this blunder was needed? with all these big companies releasing half baked games for not only PC but on consoles.
I think that this kind of big failure was long needed and this earned them a huge bad PR, so now others will learn from this and be more serious to release a functional game on the release date.
Also I hope after seeing this people will atleast think about this game when ever they going to pre-order again.
This one blunder does not matter. Even with refunds, we still have loads of early access nonsense still making its way through relatively unchecked. Sure this may scar AAA devs a little, but they still can focus on consoles and reap the benefits there.
More needs to be done to protect consumers and encourage producers to actually produce higher quality content – not race to the bottom.
Yeah… its funny, when events like this transpire it can only be a case of either gross incompetence or deliberate sabotage in the name of greed.
It is always strange how companies always double down on the incompetence excuse though, as if being incredibly incompetent is somehow better.
“we are doubling down on our internal review process” yeah… like you didn’t f***ing know the port was s**t… but even if you didn’t HOW IS THAT F***ING BETTER!
They were either stupid or greedy. They were greedy, and now they are playing stupid.
They are probably waiting for the parity/sabotage contract to expire.
We will see Red Kit 3.0 when CDPR’s parity contract expires (verbal parity though, visually ps4/x1 compared to pc high is just a joke).
That Ubisoft financial report showing there was only 3% difference between PC and PS4 sales is likely going to send Sony in a flurry of paid parity deals between the PS4 and PC version. I expect Street Fighter V and No Man’s Sky to launch like complete trash on PC at this point.
I wish people would stop buying Ubitrash but it’s the most obvious evidence yet that people are embracing PC and leaving consoles in the dust. The sudden on rush of PC ports being awful reeks of the console manufacturers getting involved and I bet that Ubi report is chilling reading for Sony.
Syndicate has a Sony marketing deal. Don’t expect a good port.
Well I hope its not wrong to genuinely like a game. With unity I felt few of the core pillars of the franchise returned, kind of what SCT-> SCB is like, I consider it AC1->ACU. Indeed both games are not as good as the original, but in this modern era, sadly this is what you get.
I think all games sony was somehow involved in turned out crap, it seems M$ was involved in ACU, so thankfully it atleast wasn’t suffering from parity issues, but ACS might turn out very bad. I now have some hope for Division, since M$ is involved, and probably the downgrading is finished.
Also the studio behind it is a PC studio responsible for World In Conflict I think. So even if its downgraded, I atleast hope for a solid port. And if the gameplay is good, I will probably get it.
PS4 will match high end PC’s for years they said, LOL, lower than low settings, i3, 750 Ti destroys the XB1. PS4 TW3 lower than lowest setting on the PC. The whole parity thing has been overstated, TW3 is superior on the PC and the day one patch made part of the game look vastly better like the water, which on ultra has 64 tessellation factor.
Well like I said, VERBAL parity. We as power users have seen the comparisons, we know the truth. The console shills are probably convinced they are playing on PC high. In this scenario, everyone is happy IMO, or deluded depending on your POV.
Also 64x tessellation is brutal to anything apart from maxwell, so I wouldn’t exactly call it a “feature”.
Yep, Foliage visibility is medium on consoles, NPC density is lower than the lowest PC settings, shadow rendering distance is lower than lowest pre-defined setting of the PC, water has no tessellation on the consoles, consoles have silly loading times, about 1 minute ,PC version has better lighting.
There is actually more missing in the console versions compared to the PC than people think. On top of that, the console version drops below 30fps to as low as 19fps. Consoles are supposed to be the best at what they do(run games) and yet they can’t even do that good anymore.
Less talk and more action, WB. It’s been almost a month and giving us just a patch and an apology isn’t enough. I want a free season pass or a free game as compensation for my troubles.
Some people couldn’t get their refund (I’m one of them since I had my brother buy it and I didn’t get home till like 4 days later..steam refunds only valid until 24 hrs). I tried to get it but they kept denying me! So some compensation better be coming our way.
100% Pure HorseS**t, that means no patch for incoming weeks cuz they don’t even know half of the game’s issues let alone fixing them
Yeah I unlocked the FPS and I am using one of my 970’s as a main and the other as a dedicated PhysX card since it has no SLI support at all. I like watching the FPS go from 60/65 down too 22fps… WTF lol. Not to mention the crashes.. And why do the crashes have the year 2013 in them!?!?!? lol…..
mine runs fine but for only 15 to 25min after that it becomes a slide show, exiting and running the game again won’t help, i must restart the whole system to be able to play another 15 to 25min, lol.
I ate a bunch of cashews the other day and my bowel movements have been beige ever since.
Did you know that water is wet!!!
Did you know that if you hold a live hand grenade for ten seconds the Army will give you a million bucks?!!! TRY IT!!!
Omg you forget to add about pulling the pin out before holding it!!
That’s the definition of a live grenade, idiot.
WB, you cannot say “Addressing the PC performance issues is still our top priority”, while you put DLC on the consoles before you fix the PC version, while giving vague statements about when you will start testing on some fixes…
i guess WB don’t like giving out refunds.
I look at this quite hugo strange-ly considering how PC code wasn’t sent out to reviewers.
but MKX retail was very good optimized !
didn’t had a problem with it…..
MKX on PC is a joke. limited to FXAA, A 970 can’t run the game at 4K dsr without crazy stuttering. No SLI support. At 1080p sure okay I get that but it looks just like th PS4 version.
And if you were like me and got it on launch you really would of been Mad. A 750 TI should be able to run this game at 1080p at it’s highest settings no problem but it don’t.
Well i have the retail version and i played it since day one with no prob maxed out 1080p 60 FPS in all matches and in menu 30 or slow motion moves.
i have it on my youtube video with the first version of the game (retail)
retail? it was never made on hardcopy… Well I heard Aussie’s might of got it on hardcopy but that was a fud I thought?
edit ether way the game is not optimized at all. Like a said a 750 TI should be able to play this game at 60 fps on it’s highest settings alone. You should not need a 680 that’s for sure.
Also the transition between when characters are taunting each other before the match and starting the match is awful because when they are talking for some reason its locked on 30FPS and the game on the start of the match goes to 60FPS , why isn’t the discussion locked on 60FPS and we have to experience this transition from 30 to 60 ? zzzz
I will never trust you again WB!
Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Master Bruce, a fellow joker of infinite
jest, of most excellent duplicity. He hath bored me with his promises of good pc port a
thousand times, and now how abhorr’d in my imagination it is!
My gorge rises at it.
They took so long and still fixing? What a mess..
With that amount of backlash and the existence of steam refunds , I predict that companies that is known to make bad PC ports (WB , Ubi ..etc) will delay the PC version for a few months like the old days , From one side you will satisfy PC gamers by making a good port and from another side you will calm down the console companies from making a parity and lastly publishers could benefit from an extra margin of double dippers
Except for Metal Gear (thankfully that it is only 2 weeks delay ) , I could wait for other PC games for months delay as long as they are great ports as i have a good backlog that could keep me occupied that time
hey still waiting for my proper pc patch, dang it! if this was
ubisoft we would have a like 5 or 6 patches by now and 2 or 3 patches
for the patches, WB! you need to step it up!
