Last week, Chris informed you about Valheim passing 3 million players since its launch. And yesterday, Iron Gate revealed that the game has reached its next milestone. Yeap, in less than a month, Valheim has passed over 4 million players.
As Iron Gate stated:
- This past weekend, we hit 500,000 concurrent players – this puts Valheim in the top 5 most played games in the history of Steam.
- Valheim has already been played for a combined total of 10,000 years! That’s 3,649,980 more days than the 20 days it has been on Steam Early Access.
- Still climbing the Steam’s Top 250 best reviewed games of all time, now sitting in 57th place!
- 81,000+ Overwhelmingly Positive reviews
Valheim is a brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, featuring a huge procedurally-generated world. In this game, players can battle, build, and conquer their way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage. Additionally, it has a flexible house and base building system and dedicated servers.
Valheim is currently available in Steam Early Access. The game also has Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews on Steam.

Very good.
So a coworker convinced me to give this game a shot. I usually do not enjoy that type of game.
Valheim did not change my opinion at all.
It’s like the ugly brother of The Forest (which is the only game of this kind that I enjoy) and Conan Exiles.
We played for over 2 hours, so I couldn’t return it. I regret buying this game.
If you don’t enjoy this type of game, avoid it.
Thanks, I have also been nagged about trying this and I am not feeling the game at all. Looks soulless tbh.
I dunno about soulless, it has a certain charm and it runs better than most final releases, but the gameplay is all about grinding and I dislike that.
i dislike survival games very much.
i am practing when becomes real life all sh*t in world going on
This won’t help you LOL.
You could try Darkwoods, it strikes a nice balance between collecting resources, history progression and base defense (as a bonus, you don’t need to construct a whole base, you just move some furniture and barricate the doors and windows). Also no r-tarded features like the player dying from hunger/thirst every half an hour.
I freaking love Darkwoods. Simply a fantastic game that understands and builds on it its strength.
Yeah, with there was more from this dev and this game.
Pretty amazing numbers, congrats to the team.
I really hope this game will help push AAA shops to finally drop always online MP, company logon server requirements and forced MP. Been saying it for a while now, drop in optional co-op and P2P is the future and what everyone should focus on that want any MP component in their game.
It’s cool to see that they let you play solo and offline if you want to, if only everyone did this with other MP games or it was enforced as a standard.
we def need a resurgence of co-op PVE based over PVP, with slight PVE element style games.
I tried it with a bunch of friends I thought it would be a good game since everyone is playing it, yikes NOPE it looks and plays like washed up version of rust and the forest, total garbage, I have no idea how this game even got 10k sales
Oh man that sucks to hear. It looked really fun :/
Herd mentality
Great game, Can’t stop playing it!
mine craft sold 200 million units valheim is way better
Always distrust overwhelming positive reviews on steam.
Now hopefully they get working on cross play and console versions so I can play with my buddies on PS4 soon. Would much rather play this than the forest…
