Universal Pictures has trademarked a new Jurassic World game, Jurassic World Aftermath

It appears that a new Jurassic World game is currently under development. Universal Pictures has trademarked Jurassic World Aftermath on July 14th. While we don’t have enough information, we do know that Jurassic World Aftermath is indeed a video-game.

It’s worth noting that the last official Jurassic World game was Jurassic World Evolution. Jurassic World Evolution was a part building game. Therefore, Jurassic World Aftermath may be its sequel/continuation. After all, Jurassic World Evolution has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, and met a commercial success.

Some rumors suggest that this may be a new and improved version of the cancelled Jurassic World game, Jurassic World Survivor. Jurassic World Survivor was using Unreal Engine 4 and was a first person ‘Left4Dead’ clone in which players could team up in order to kill dinosaurs.

Now while this may sound cool to some, I’m certain that Jurassic World Aftermath will not be a “Left4Dead” game. After all, we’ve seen in the past few months a lot of 4vs1 games that have failed to meet commercial success. Thus, and from a business viewpoint, it makes no sense to resurrect a project that has already been cancelled.

Let’s hope that Universal Pictures will reveal more details about Jurassic World Aftermath sooner rather than later.
