It appears that the PC release of UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves is imminent, even though Sony has not made any official announcement as of yet. Although the big S has claimed that this collection will release in Summer 2022 on PC, we now have another hint at a possible July release.
Back in April, we reported about the possibility of the game releasing on June 20th or July 15th. At this point, we can safely assume that Sony won’t be releasing the game on that first date. However, a July 15th release date now seems possible.
Earlier today, Iron Galaxy and Naughty Dog updated the game’s SteamDB EULA. Not only that, but the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee rated the game today. As such, we can safely assume that the game will be releasing shortly, and we’ll most likely find out more during Summer Game Fest 2022 or the PC Gaming Show 2022.
If the game does come out in July, PC gamers will be able to enjoy three more Playstation exclusives this year. After all, Marvel’s Spider-Man will release in August, followed by Miles Morales in Fall 2022.

Plenty of reasons, they want to erase the past and the idea that gamers will only buy the shiniest new video games. Microsoft did the same with plenty of franchises like Gears and Forza, tough they are better at re-releasing old games (but mostly the ones already on PC, unfortunately).
I remember reading somewhere that the original Gears of War trilogy is about to get a remaster treatment aswell, which certainly would appear on PC, too.

I think the Gears series isn’t as big seller as Halo and that’s why they didn’t remaster all the trilogy, people kinda forgot this IP since Gears UE, 4 and 5 had relatively poor sales, but it could happen someday, for the moment, the Xenia team did an awesome progression on emulating the series

They’re solid games at best, i remember playing the first one on PC nearly 20 years ago and i was asking myself the same question, but in the end i think Halo was for a lot of console players their first good shooter and they discovered competitive MP alongside the game, and because of the stupid nature of nostalgia, they’re still here 20 years later asking for the same thing and hoping it will bring them the same experience…

Halo has been around for longer, and Gears series still pull impressive numbers, 27 million before the release of the 6 title.
They could port the game regardless, i’m sure people interested woudn’t mind, better a crappy port than no port at all.
your answer is the Xenia Emulator. Unlike RPCS3, I have tested & FINISHED Gears of War 2, 3 & Judgment in a 4-Core CPU. Clearly MS & Epic know it & hence yet to make that much of an interest. Plus, I have no idea why but Gears series is kind of a bit underwhelming than Halo & some other MS franchises. Personally in the 2010s, I finished the GoW 1 every year at least once. I loved it immensely.

The same reason why Hollywood releases their expensive “blockbusters” in the summer time-frame, which Sony is actually a part of (Columbia Pictures).
There are more people around with enough free-time on their hands in that period of the year.
Also, thanks to Steam, a PC game can still generate good revenue well after the initial launch window has passed, which is exactly why Sony is doing these ports in the first place.

I saw the GoW (including Ghost of Sparta, Chains of Olympus & Ascension) series in YouTube at the very first place and then singlehandedly enjoyed them on RPCS3. Sad to see Santa Monica Studio once developed those games. Those old games really are a testament of art, passion and perfection. This new dad simulator. What garbage is this? (except that arcade mode where you can really wreck hell with Blades of Chaos)
