Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, first details and early access on August 5th

Ubisoft has just announced a new free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter, Tom Clancy’s XDefiant. Tom Clancy’s XDefiant will combine intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams of gunfighters – called Defiants – battle for domination.

Players will be able to personalize their Defiant to match their playstyle. Players can choose their faction, traits, abilities, and ultras. Additionally, they can select from an arsenal of primary and secondary weapons, attachments, and a device to complete their loadout. Furthermore, they can tweak their loadout on the fly to adapt to an ever-changing battlefield.

Tom Clancy’s XDefiant will also offer a variety of competitive 6v6 arena and linear game modes. For example, two of them are Domination and Escort. Players can combine that with a large pool of uniquely designed maps in rotation.

As the press release reads, Wolves, Outcasts, Cleaners, and Echelon factions will battle across iconic locations. Ubisoft will keep adding to its cast of Defiants as the game evolves, drawing on a range of characters and abilities from the Clancy universe and beyond.

Lastly, the first test will start on August 5th for PC players in the US and Canada.

Enjoy!

        1. why? Does he have “fun” with ladies in previous Splinter Cell games?
Are you saying that is how he begins the process of splintering cells?

          1. No, he has a daughter and flirted with female operatives, you would know if you played the games so your question wouldnt even make sense to begin with.
Besides, in previous games that wasnt even a topic of discussion, unlike nowadays where some games need to clarify the sexuality of a fictional and digital character even when is irrelevant.

          2. They didn’t need to clarify the sexuality of fictional characters because they were all hetrosexual by default. I mean if they decided to reboot his character and replace him by a gay man, it would not affect anything. you said it yourself, it’s irrelevant so why care?

          3. Then make a new IP with a new character that happens to be gay (if that coindition is relevant to the game…).
But after 7 games all of the sudden Sam Fisher is gay even when previously never showed signs of it? It’s irrelevant but when you point it out and change it just because, breaking any continuity with the character becomes relevant, so kindly f*ck off.

          5. If it’s irrelevant and it doesn’t affect anything, pretend it didn’t happen. you just want things to not change and stay the way you like it which contradicts how business thrives.

          6. Pretend it doesnt exists, nice cope. That’s now how reality works kid.
Is funny how you say that while the entertainment industry is made of remasters and remakes nowadays.

          7. yeah, that’s how reality works. that’s why businesses constantly come up with new things and transform.
remasters exist because there’s a profit. what’s your point?

    1. no you fcking amateur they will replace him with his daughter the same way naughty dog is doing with uncharted.

  1. Scru U. Tom is such a dedicated professional that he works at it even in death.

Granted….not as good as his usual writing. But it looks good enough for a brain that no longer works.

    1. The zombie of Tom Clancy still would write a better story than any Ubisoft game made in the last decade.

  2. Already deemed a failure on PC since it won’t be on Steam. Man… Ubisoft sure turned into a pile of trash regardless.

    1. All the red flags a game can possibly have and not bein on steam is what makes you think it will be a failure lmao c’mon man.

  3. For the love of all that is right in this world, please stop using Tom’s name. just keep making your trash games, but leave Tom out of it. nothing about their games is “military” at all except if you count having guns go pew pew.

    1. How is this game not military fiction? Also, He sold his name so Ubisoft can use it, what is he gonna do about it, haunt Ubisoft?

  4. This is as much Splinter Cell, as The Three Stooges is Call of Duty.

Only in a world this stupid, is Ubisoft still in business.

  5. Damn…the UBI-Trash Can keeps filling up….how much more trash games from woke trash company till it’s full i wonder

  6. Yay, another free to pay game that will join Ubi’s graveyards of thrown away projects such as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms, Hyper Scape and Space Junkies. Graveyard is getting crowded!

  7. Nah dude, Tom is an patriot i’m sure he would approve this latest in american ideological imperialism.

  8. just two white guys on their entire team. no wonder they can’t make anything other than dog t*rd.

  9. “GARBAGE” is a grave understatement!

How they have just damaged Tom Clancy’s name these days!

  10. Ubicrap its like they are not even the same company they were before 2010

like a youtuber said “i would not trust current Ubisoft with a new splinter cell game”

i hope the ghost of Tom Clancy will come back to haunt them till they go bankrupt

  11. Ubisoft needs to take a breather and really reevaluate their ideas, values and direction. Most if not all their games are cookie cutter ones with one franchise being almost the same as another in terms of gameplay, feel and content.
Going in to the market with another generic battle royale game is insane (they would probably have more luck putting this on mobile instead. Even then, there are better ones out there). There are other better, more fleshed out and readily available competition out there. Putting out another generic one is not going to build the market for them, of which will only be temporary before the players return to those other games when they see nothing much in offer from Ubisoft, whose games are again cookie cutter, generic, boring games.
And the name, good lord, whomever decided or recommended the name for this one needs to be tarred, feathered and made to run naked through town with the rest chasing them with pitchforks, clubs, hoes and lighted torches.

  12. “this is our take on the modern first person shoooter multiplayer game”
    First of all why?
second of all, isnt that what you turned rainbow six into?

I miss the old days that the french made interesting artistic stuff not generic real life junk.
