inXile Entertainment has just announced that Torment: Tides of Numenera has been delayed to 2016. As Chris Keenan – Project Lead for Torment: Tides of Numenera – noted, this will give inXile enough time to maintain the quality of its product. Chris also claimed that inXile plans to release the beta build of Torment: Tides of Numenera in 2015.
As Chris said:
“As a fresh set of eyes on the project I can tell you it’s shaping up to be the awesome experience you all expect and deserve. However, to maintain the quality standard we’ve set for ourselves, we can’t rush through these final stages to get it out the door. Instead, we’re going to take the time we need on Torment: Tides of Numenera, which means we are planning a 2016 release.”
Chris concluded that the level art for the beta build of Torment: Tides of Numenera is largely done, and that the team is currently making good progress on the ‘general game systems, level design and UI elements,’ and that inXile has ‘full intentions on releasing the beta this year.’

Was it supposed to come out this year? I was always expecting an early 2016 release.
yeah me too, i thought it was delayed to 2016 few months ago.
I’d much rather have a delayed game than a rushed one. Especially considering this is a follow up to one of the most lovingly crafted RPG’s ever made.
Something’s wrong, K. Saunders was the project lead and he either quit or was fired.
He left –
“With the major creative and production decisions now resolved, and the team charging full speed toward completing the game, inXile and I have decided it is time for me to depart from the studio,”
“I am proud of the project that I’m leaving in capable hands, and while I do not know what I’ll do next, I look forward to new challenges and opportunities.”
It’s suspicious, to say the least. A project lead usually doesn’t quit in the middle of production. Especially if he doesn’t have another job lined up.
For the first time ever I am going to agree with RPG Codex losers.
The Project Director who was responsible for Mask of The Betrayer leaves when the Beta is about to come out. Then this guy who has nothing to do with any Torment Game becomes the Project Lead?
That bad news Folks. That does not happen unless the CEO wants to rush out the Said Project.
My Trust in These guys just dropped a lot!
