Third-party rasterized and ray tracing gaming benchmarks for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

NVIDIA has lifted the review embargo for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, and a lot of third-party gaming benchmarks have hit the Internet. As such, and in order to give you an idea of how this new GPU performs, we’ve decided to share some of them.

Guru3D has shared ray tracing benchmarks in games like Watch Dogs Legion, F1 2022 and Cyberpunk 2077. At native 4K (and without DLSS 2), the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 appears to be significantly faster than the RTX 3090Ti. However, it’s nowhere close to the beast, the RTX 4090.

PCGamesHardware has included some really demanding rasterized games, like Total War: Warhammer 3, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Red Dead Redemption 2. At native 4K, the RTX 4080 is unable to offer a smooth gaming experience. Not only that, but in some games the performance increase over the RTX 3090Ti is not that big.

TechPowerUp reports that the RTX 4080 is slower by 20% in Elden Ring than the RTX 4090. This means that it’s faster by 17% than the RTX 3090Ti. The RTX 4080 is also slower than the RTX 4090 by 12% and 18% in Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, respectively.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Review: Great Performance, Poor Pricing

  1. In what universe does a 3090 ti not get 60 fps at native 4K in RDR2? Much less a 4080? What on earth were their settings? 16x msaa?

  2. The 4080 is so bad with it’s price / performance ratio that it makes the 4090 the better deal. Every and I mean every youtuber that has pull in subs mentions it!!

Jayz – “The RTX 4080 is too little too late…”

    GamersNex-“NVIDIA’s Lost It”

    PaulsHardware-“This is NOT OK, NVIDIA!”

Linus-“We Found One Good Thing About the GeForce RTX 4080”

Digital-“Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 Review: Great Performance, Poor Pricing”

HardwareUnboxed -“Nvidia makes gamers pay…For gamers paying”

    Epos-“Nvidia has a PRICE PROBLEM!”

    BPS-“4080 1200!??!?!?”

It just goes on and on LOL

  3. Performance is still amazing (4K 120fps in most games) but if someone is willing to buy GPU for over 1200$ then he may as well buy much better 4090, at least that’s something I would do.

  4. Performance is still amazing but if someone is willing to buy GPU for over 1200$ then he may as well choose much better 4090 (up to 40% more performance), at least that’s something I would do.

    1. That’s what makes it so sad. It is such a great product, but they ruined it with the price. I agree too and did just that. I was going to get the 4080, but when they announced prices I was like why in the hell would I not just get a 4090, so I did. I am actually surprised how well the card does considering how cut down it is from the 4090. It just sucks because like I said, great card with great efficiency. Hell I would say probably ends up more efficient than AMD’s offering and hell my 4090 is amazingly efficient. just wish they would have priced the 4080 at like 899 and it would have been brilliant. The 7900xtx is op with its terrible RT and should be about the same and well the XT is just as stupid at only 100 less. I remember when people complained about flagships being 699….yea miss those day.

  5. Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
