In case you weren’t aware of, The Witcher 3’s 1.04 patch introduced a nasty bug that prevented gamers gaining any experience while completing quests. And while CD Projekt RED claimed that it has fixed this bug, it has not released any hotfix for it as of yet. Well, good news everyone as a mod has been released that addresses this issue.
All you have to do in order to fix the game’s XP glitch is download this mod, and install it.
Here is how you can install it:
– Extract the file to folder (Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt\content\patch0\bundles)
– Run file fix.bat
– Done
Simple, right? Kudos to the modder and shame on CD Projekt RED for not releasing a hotfix for it.
For what is worth, the company will release a new patch for both the consoles and the PC versions in the coming days (that will feature this XP fix).

Does the bug affect 100% of players and quests? Or is it an issue that affected just some players?
just some i guess, esp while doing quests lower than your lvl.

obviously only some. otherwise the backlash would be larger. i didn’t experienced any serious bug and i did all the main quests and major side quests so i tested a huge chunk of the game. doesn’t mean it hasn’t any major bugs though. just my luck.
As far as I know, only quests that were 6 or more levels below yours were affected.
No, that’s a common misunderstanding: in Witcher 3, quests that are 6 or more levels below yours are not supposed to give you XP (by design).
This bug can affect any quest that should have given you XP. Personally I haven’t experienced it myself — I seem to be getting XP for every quest I do.

I played for 97 hours…not a single problem with XP or anything related to it.
At least we don’t have to deal with this plus graphics downgrade. LOL

Both console versions are sh*t as far as I know. Red has always been PC focused.
I’m pretty sure that CDPR is fixing more than just the XP glitch in their 1.05 patch 😐

I’m waiting for 1.05 before i play the game again, I’m gonna replay the game anyway, i can’t bloody find beast oil because keira seems to be the only one who sold it and I’ve already sent her to you know where. Oh and she also got vampire oil too. So yeah, can’t wait to replay the game with the new patch, hope it’ll come out soon.
