CD Projekt RED announced today that it has released all the 16 free DLCs – that it had originally promised – for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The latest DLC adds a new Game+ mode to this open-world RPG, something that a lot of fans have been asking for.
Marcin Iwi?ski, co-founder of CD PROJEKT RED, said:
“We’ve been releasing free DLCs since launch, and today’s release of New Game +, the 16th and last of them, marks a special moment for us and, I hope, for all Wild Hunt fans as well. They can now restart their adventure and see how the story turns out if they make different choices than on their first play-through. I’d like to extend my thanks to all the gamers who played our game and gave these DLCs a try. Nothing makes a developer happier than seeing gamers have fun with what they created,” Iwi?ski adds, noting that “I would really like to see such initiatives become an industry standard rather than an exception to the general rule, and I hope that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has set a good example.”
Below is a list of all the 16 free DLCs the studio released since launch: Temerian Armor Set, Beard and Hairstyle Set, New Quest – ‘Contract: Missing Miners’, Alternative Look for Yennefer, Nilfgaardian Armor Set, Elite Crossbow Set, New Quest – ‘Fool’s Gold’, Ballad Heroes’ Neutral Gwent Card Set, New Quest – ‘Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear’, Alternative Look for Triss, New Quest – ‘Contract: Skellige’s Most Wanted’, Skellige Armor Set, Alternative Look for Ciri, New Quest – ‘Where the Cat and Wolf Play…’, New Finisher Animations, NEW GAME +. Almost 500MB DLC contents…
Still waiting expansions tough!
STEAM FTW!
you forgot day 1, 4k and 60 fps.
too late…released months ago!
still….no 4k and 60 fps?
ok!
but it was free.
so think of it as a patch 😀
And a New Game+ made right!
Believe it or not.. id actually pay 1-3 bucks for that. I wish more games had a quick save/load option. That was my favourite thing in Half Life.
Agreed
What about the graphics in the VGX trailer that was promised and then cut out. Oh wait, those effects where never going to be in the final game because it was a bullsh*t trailer to sell preorders. No amount of free DLC will make up for that.
Oh yeah, “open world” no, TW3 is not open world, each area has a loading screen, you can’t manually travel there, no matter how big each area is, the game is not truly open world as you get turned back if you go too far. Gothic 3 is a true open world, no loading screens to get to the desert, showy areas, grassy areas, you can even swim across the sea to the desert area, unlike TW3 where you get a loading screen to get to Skellige.
“wouaaa wouaaa wu wu wouaaaaaaa…” grow up kid, world is much more complicated then your expectations and imaginations.
Who are you, ahh nobody. Oh actually, looking at your comments, you’re a Witcher 3 defender, so that’s why you replied. all of your 26 replies are The Witcher 3 related so GTFO.
I do agree that it was stupid of them to have mislead/lie about the graphics options and FX shown previously, however I still decided to try the game after cancelling my pre order, loved it, bought it, and for me, up till now, it’s the game of the year. And trust me man, I was pissed.
Not saying it’s not a great game, it is but the “open world” is pretty much a lie. The world is made up of areas you can’t travel to without a loading screen and edge of those areas don’t go anywhere, the game just sends you back. Arma 3 is way bigger yet you can travel the whole island on foot, fly or drive without a loading screen.
Basically CDPR chopped the world up into bits and each area has a loading screen. The Witcher 2 was exactly like that only smaller. This is probably because of consoles.
Wait… What? This is STILL hub-based like in Witcher 1 & 2??
Yep, the only difference is that you can go back and forth to each area in TW3, you can’t travel there on foot or horse.
tbh it’s much like ac2 or ac3 or dying light, nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
Your understanding so bad, didn’t say there was anything wrong with that concept, just said it isn’t “open world”.
riiiiiight…..so let’s take your beloved e3 trailers….what does it say?
mmmm….multi region open world.
Aaaahhh…..
Don’t go too far or you get greeted with a ‘you can’t go that way’. Oblivion 2006 did the same ,you’ve come to the end of the world.
well if you don’t want invisible walls you’re either deluded or insane.
Go play no man’s sky when it’ll be out then. Don’t come complain when you discover even that has limits.
Again you don’t understand what I’m staying, using other games as a defence for your pathetic argument.
all right then…explain it to me….
Gothic 3, Arma 3 are two PC only games, they are truly open in the fact you can go anywhere without a loading screen to get to the other place ,you can walk there, fly there, ride there, drive there, swim there, get a boat there. TW3 just does not have any of those options, it’s just a loading screen to the area.
sigh…well didn’t know of the existence of two games with no invisible walls!
As i’ve said already.. grow up.
Sorry but you’re f*cking dumb.
Cool story bro!
It’s called a sentence, see wrong again.
Another story from uncle Sean. Nice!
It’s not like the first two games, what are you taking about?
Listen I was pissed too, but it’s still game of the year for me, it’s still one of the best looking games out there (not as good as earlier demoed) and for me I consider it open world. Consider Skyrim for example, it’s open world (and I’m pretty sure the main Witcher 3 area is bigger than the entire main map of Skyrim), and it has loading screens and different world areas, especially with all the DLCs, and it’s considered open world by pretty much everyone, same for GTA V, and the Far Crys etc etc.
grow up. Graphics make no difference in such a masterpiece. If you want graphics gfo play Ryse or the Order, let’s see how much fun you have.
OH and don’t give that “you’re nobody” thing.
You don’t have a point.
Both games aint great in gfx.
Even Dying Light surpass both in beautiness!
Steam day1 4k 60fps FTW!
Oh boy that hurted.
Im playing it at high to ultra setting achieving at most 40FPS! lmao!
didn’t mean to hurt you bro 😀
aint you a real fox?!
Not really the point, or maybe not the point that I see wrong here. CD Project lied about the graphics, I really don’t prioritize graphics in my enjoyment of games, but a lie is a lie.
You QQ 2much -_-
The usual troll defence force coming in.
or maybe you don’t see the cracks in your own arguments?
You haven’t made a case other than to mock me with “grow up” and “gfo you want graphics gfo play Ryse or the Order, let’s see how much fun you have.” isn’t even close to an argument.
or maybe you don’t want to listen to the voice of reason?
shut up and “enjoy” what the TW3 was supposed to be:

Your comments are worthless now..you have nothing to add other than petty come backs, that are straight trash..high quality garbage that need to be thrown out ASAP
Dear Lord Sean MK 2
Or maybe you don’t understand what Sean have been saying all this time..
blablabla v1
So you have nothing of relevance to add to the discussion? No? Ok! Then shut the f
And Sean MK II reloaded
The term “open world” doesn’t mean no loading screens, although having no loading screens adds to the immersion. It simply means the gameplay facilitates backtracking and multiple approaches over a large sprawling area, as opposed to a focused narrative-driven gameplay from one endpoint to another. Loading screens are simply put in due to memory limitations, and doesn’t violate the open world paradigm.
That’s not enough open world for him apparently…..
Shut up now, grown ups are talking.
Apparently he has a grudge against me now.
Again, you can’t get to the areas without a loading screen because the areas are not connected, I.e you can’t take your boat manually to Skellige, you can’t ride your horse from White Orchid to Velen.
can’t ride the horse to Velen! 1/10 Sean ign.
Games have been like that for ages, quit your sobbing.
Another stupid comment that has no relevance.
And you are?
Smarter than you.
can’t see that happening.
Agreed, but you must consider that “open world” doesn’t actually refer to the map alone. What it also refers to is the way the narrative is structured. The map merely facilitates in furthering that narrative. So while ideally an entirely open world would not have any sort of “invisible walls” or “loading screens” etc., most current games do enforce some restrictions due to technical limitations while still adhering to the “open world” narrative. Gothic 3 was free from some of these limitations because it was a PC-only game, so memory wasn’t really much of a problem (and because it didn’t push any graphical boundaries). If you consider Assassin’s Creed, that also has no loading screens in-game, and it makes up for that by not allowing players to enter all buildings (at least the earlier titles). Fundamentally it comes down to technological limitations, not design flaws.
Which is what I said about TW3, it’s designed that way so consoles can run it and as it is they barely can, never mind having the areas connected. The whole ‘this one area is massive’ talk just detracts from the point. It’s not about how big one area is, it’s the fact that the world is disconnected and the areas are designed in a way that breaks immersion, it makes you think you can go that way when you can’t. The area designs are bad just like games says “you can’t go that way ,you’re leaving the battlefield” but TW3 uses a different narrative.
If you can’t got that way don’t give the impression you can not matter how big the area is, because that’s utter nonsense and bad design. This is 2015, no 2006.
*sigh*
I absolutely agree with all of those shortcomings, but inspite of that Witcher 3 is an open world game (strictly by definition, mind you). Maybe not as “open” as it could be, but still.
Not going to argue about graphics because I have done that a lot of times but as far as open world is concerned it is an open world game and they didn’t hide anything about it. If you visit their website then from the beginning they said that it’s going to be a “multi region” open world game and it has multi regions like No Man’s Land, Novigrad, Skellige and White Orchard so what’s wrong if they are not connected with a road or sea ? they still allow you to explore with freedom and if you calculate their distance then they are bigger than both Gothic 3 and Skyrim.
As for the boundaries, every open world game has some boundaries. Some restrict you by making your character stop moving at a certain point or some make you respawn back to a certain location (like in TW3), no open world game can continue forever.
They also made a break through in loading screens, the only loading screen that will appear is when you load a save or change the region other than that if you die you get back in game almost instantly and no matter which fast travel point you’ll choose you get their in a blink, I think that should be praised. The game have to do memory management at some point like when changing the region so maybe you’re expecting a miracle like it should load each and everything in memory ?
The only biggest disappointment I have from this game is that they didn’t released RedKit for modding which I hope will change in future other than that it’s something that is shining among the likes of Batman Arkham Knight which cannot even load the next road without stuttering a dozen of times.
He probably doesn’t understand that and wants unlimited game map with no loading screens whatsoever. Can’t wait to his reaction when no man’s sky comes out.
You give them too much credit, if the game was PC only it would be all linked together allowing you to walk from one region to another. Gothic 3 does because it’s a PC only game, Star Citizen(in space) will because it’s a PC only game, Arma 3 gaves you such a massive island that eclipses TW3’s regions.
your point being? What does it detract from the whole experience?
Just shut now, don’t reply to me you cu*t
I am currently replying to you in this very moment.
foxy has a valid point.
sailing to skillege from novigrad / velen would be boring as it is a sea.
like a sea. like a really huge amount of water and distance of nothing but water
I give credit where it’s due, you’re bashing them far more than they deserve. We have to get over the fact that it’s a multi platform game now but PC version is still the definitive version to get, on top of that it’s still one of the best looking game I have ever seen in open world games and it completely smashes Dragon Age Inquisition. I don’t care if the world is physically connected or not, the size and content itself matters not the connecting roads.
Besides even if it’s connected with some road or water path we will probably use it once or twice after that we will just use fast travel to get to another zone anyway. Tell me how many times you actually used a boat to get from Kaer Trolde to Trottheim in Skellige ? the idea of one physically connected world sounds great on paper but in reality we just skip the connecting paths after a while, I spent more than 250 hours on this game for my first play and I still locate new areas eventually, I don’t know what kind of open world you’re expecting.
Arma 3 has bigger world than TW3 but it lacks in other areas, it doesn’t have impressive lighting during different times, the vegetation doesn’t move, clouds aren’t as impressive, models aren’t as detailed and the list goes on. Don’t get me wrong Arma 3 is a great game in it’s own regard but you’re just trying to make TW3 look bad using one way or another.
Really sad to see people accept something as it is rather than how it could have been greater. The only hope now is Star Citizen.
or maybe you just have to grow up? 😀
No the fact is I accept the truth while people just like to drag it over and over. The Witcher 3 in it’s current condition running on 1440p + Ultra + HairWorks + Reshade bring my dual GTX 980s to barely achieving 60 fps. Now as said in DSOG’s own performance review the game is very well optimized and despite this it’s very demanding on GPU side, don’t know how much more demanding or great people want it to be ?
We will see how Star Citizen turns out but for now within DX11 limits TW3 both looks and run great.
I never really found the segmented maps to be a huge problem simply because they so damn huge. Inquisition, now that’s annoying, small maps with so many loading screens.
There is a specific term for that, and it’s called “seamless”. It has nothing to do with how much a world is open. There are some games that doesn’t have loading screens at all, but that doesn’t make them open, because they’re separated in different levels or areas, and you can’t go back and forth as you want.
Open world means exactly what is says, a world which is open for your exploration. It isn’t promise you that there won’t be any loading screens. For example, Mount & Blade is a open world sandbox game, but it’s separated into lots of small sections. Gothic I and II also has at least one loading screen, but that doesn’t make them less open.
I also think that the decision to separate areas into different sections is not exactly a hardware problem. If they can stream large areas you see in the game, I think they could possibly make everything seamless. The problem is, it will be very hard to work with.
I would have done something like the real world for the areas, i.e when you get to the end of that area, it goes back on itself or put the areas closer to each other so they’re seamless. A 10 minute boat ride yourself to Skellige is not too much to ask and makes it a lot more immerse. In Gothic 3 you can swim from the starting area to the desert on the other side of the world, so what the big deal about making a 2015 game like that?
yes….sailing between skellige islands is already boring as it is and you want more sailing? 😀 lol @ you
Your comments are worthless now..
*sigh*
Probably because Piranha Bytes was ahead of its time back then. Along with the fact that no one seems to give a thing about seamless worlds. I mean, I’m pretty sure that Bethesda will cut Fallout 4 into small pieces, loadings into every house, etc., just like any other of their games, and no one will criticize them for it. But hey, no one will criticize them for bugs, awful plot, lots of gameplay mechanic issues, and many other things. That’s what I call the power of marketing.
And if that isn’t enough, the new consoles even struggling to get 30fps. We really need a PC-oriented AAA RPG right now, but that’s probably not going to happen any time soon. CD Project already showed us the middle finger (if someone still didn’t notice that, I have pity on them), so I have no hope in them and their Cyberpunk 2077 anymore. Elex seems good, but Piranha Bytes is not what it was.
But still, I’d like to see in the future, not in the past. Bashing Witcher 3 for what it is won’t give us a completely seamless open world RPG.
Agreed.
yeah well… half of that didn’t make it into the game….now sulk like a baby and cry to mommy you got a “broken” toy…….
Some people….
You’re what’s wrong with the videogames industry.
well go play destiny then…or cod. Maybe then your sulking will be legit.
Spent 8 hours in the NG+ mode. The only problem i have with this DLC program is the damn Wolven Gear Set. The base set requires a level 44 but we can’t even unlock Kaer Morhen without the Ugly Baby quest which finishes WAY after level 44, probably level 50+. Just make the Kaer Morhen map accessible already!!!!
a little bit disappointed by those DLCs (come on, newgame+ should have been in the game when it’s released) but hey EA charge you money for even inferior DLCs
Witcher 3 is master piece .Sean stop being a ungrateful f@g and enjoy the game.
Lol @SeanW1972:disqus 😀
Only f@g here is you, and foxy’s comments continue to be worthless
All right you’re either Sean’s bf or sean himself 😀
Seeing that at first they said they were unsure of developing a NG+ mode and now that it’s been released in the form of the 16th DLC, I have a feeling that all the DLC were developed post-release. Or did they say long ago it’s being developed post-release?
Witcher 3.. the GOTY console game. If you are PC gamer and you played it on PC with Keyboard & Mouse you knew first hand this game is made for consoles.
The controls felt comfortable using K&M as always. It did however, get downgraded because of the bloody consoles.
This is the sad state of gaming, next dlc will be higher difficulty setting..shit is just beyond ridiculous at this point, and is going to get even more so down the road.
