Frogwares has just released a PC demo for its upcoming third-person survival horror Lovecraftian game, The Sinking City 2. Moreover, it has shared its official PC system requirements. So, let’s dive in.
The Sinking City 2 aims to pull players into a dark and frightening world filled with strange creatures and mysterious horrors inspired by the stories of H. P. Lovecraft.
Players will explore and try to survive in the city of Arkham. This is a large, maze-like place filled with flooded streets and old, broken-down mansions. Strange and terrifying creatures hide in the shadows, waiting just out of sight.
Moreover, they will be able to use an arsenal of weapons to fight off Deep Ones, Mi-gos, occult zealots, and other iconic monsters from the source material. Additionally, there will be some new and unique creatures that expand the Cthulhu Mythos.
According to the devs, the game will feature classic survival horror gameplay. Players will need to manage their inventory, solve optional puzzles, and return to previously visited areas to find new paths and hidden treasures. The game will also include clues and environmental details that help uncover side mysteries, which can reward players with new story outcomes and gameplay bonuses.
To run the demo, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i7-8700K or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 12GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. The game will also require 70GB of free disk space. With this PC system, you will be able to run it at 1080p with 30fps on the Performance preset. The listed specifications were evaluated using TSR.
The devs recommend using an Intel Core i5-14600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X with and an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070.
The Sinking City 2 is using Unreal Engine 5. So, it will be interesting to see how the game runs on PC. Will it have the usual traversal stutters (from which the first game also suffered)? Or will it run better?
Frogwares will release The Sinking City 2 on August 18. You can download the PC demo from this link.
Have fun!
