Electronic Arts and Bioware have announced that the open demo for Anthem is currently live and available for download to everyone. The open demo will run until February 3rd and will give you an idea of what you can expect from this new multiplayer game.
In the Open Demo, players will start out as a level 10 pilot with a fully equipped javelin of their choice. Players can unlock a second javelin of their choice (either Ranger, Colossus, Storm, or Interceptor) at level 12 and their level will be capped at level 15 for the Open Demo. Furthermore, players will also be able to personalize their javelins and change their loadouts to equip any new gear or weaponry they get on missions.
In case you are wondering, there hadn’t been any major changes between the VIP and the Open Demo. VIP gamers can obviously play the demo and their progress will carry over to it, however most of the game’s issues are still present (Infinite Loading for example and the awful mouse controls).
Last week, Bioware listed the changes and improvements that will be coming to the final version so we suggest reading them (before or after trying the Open Demo).

Yeah the game looks really bad and i’m not even interested in trying.
Not worth the bandwidth.
Are you a time traveler from the 90’s or early 2000 ? Didn’t know bandwidth limit still existed in 2019 lol.
Almost everywhere on earth have electricity, doesn’t mean we have to waste it.
Your point is as re*arded as your shilling.
contrarian just for the sake of it.
So you are admitting to being uninformed ? got it.
Depending on where you live here in the USA there is most certainly a bandwidth limit. I was downloading at less than 1/2 MB/s for a long time and it was painfully slow. Taking sometimes a day or more to download a game. We finally got an option to upgrade and now I am able to download at up to 20 MB/s. Damn! What a difference.
At least I’ve never had to deal with data caps like some areas.
You just let the facts get in the way of bizzysgs’s latest nonsense. ?
I know. I was just making fun of the fact that Americans have sh*t internet.
But Amir lives in Iran.
I have 15gb limit per day but from 12am to 7am it is free so bandwidth still exists
there’s no such thing as unlimited bandwidth you dumb f4g. once you hit a certain number or size they usually mess with your internet speed or ping consistency or something, that limit for me is 1200gb (1.2tb) even though the service i get is a 100mbps with “unlimited” bandwidth. most never hit these numbers that’s why you think it’s really unlimited.
Exactly, but unfortunately many aren’t aware of it.
In your country/your ISP maybe. I’ve definitely torrented way over 1 tb in a single month in the past without any speed decrease.
-piracy is bad
-pirates 1 tb in a month
mfw?
You’re embarrassing yourself
No. You’re embarrassing yourself. You literally stalked me and went through my entire comment history to reply to me. Get a life lmao.
Idk about stalked. Your idiocy is painted all over this website lol just an avid reader. Nice try tho

I haven’t experienced the infinite loading at all this time.
so you saying you didnt experience cancer this time?
“stop posting your BS trash.”
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN
“Dont like the game then move on moron.”
Tell that to the people who still make videos about fallout 76… please let it die and lets forget about this abomination…that you propably also like.
What’s kind of heartbreaking about games like this is that when you see the screenshots, it all looks amazing, and you think how great it’d be to have adventures in that world, meet interesting characters, go on unique quests… but we’ve arrived at a point where devs and publishers just go for the low hanging fruit and look to exploit people’s desire to gather loot and shoot stuff and that’s ALL the experience becomes. Shoot things, gather loot, rinse and repeat. And now, buy things with real money right and left to aid you in your grinding. Absolutely no worthwhile interactions with the world beyond blowing stuff up.
The only original ideas come from Japanese games. Western games are either: open world checklists, looter/shooters, battle royales or some lazy sequel like Fallout 76.
>The only original ideas come from Japanese games.
lol
East block and Japanese
In addition Eastern european games and Indie game developers still in my good book. But i agree Western studios are f*ing it up constantly. It seems it´s too costly to make a game similar to Witcher 3 or Dying Light in western market. But it´s good to see that most developers still are trying. Whe did EA had last proper game with singleplayer and with no major problems and game breaking Micros. Was it a indie game Way out they gave free hands to develop. (Was quite good game). But the last proper triple AAA game from EA might be, correct if i am worng : Dragon Age 3 or DA:I thats 2014. 5 years has passed and we had nothing from EA. Im quite sure Anthem is just shoot em up grind fest. Prove me wrong
Tried to install it. Where it were from? Its not on my steam, not on epic launcher, hmmm, maybe on battlenet , ah wait, its on origin… Well, you all can suck my dingdong, Im not installing any more crapware on my computer!
NO U
Oh come on having 20 freaking launchers starting up and updating simultaneously each with their own notification popups every time you start your pc is fun…..also you gonna need more ram.
I’d rather watch paint dry than to suck the pEAnis.
You can thank DICE for essentially suicide bombing your company
Btw all you guys showing negativity for the game who did not even try open demo…Shame On You for being a gamer….why dont you people become critics rather.Anthem open demo is amazing,no bugs, issues none.Thank you bioware for not spoiling Anthem
No need to be so crabby, CrabbyGamer.
i tried the demo….it refused to load….now who is negative here, me or the game?
From what I’ve been testing on my pretty strong PC (i7 8700k with a GTX 1080) I do agree that this was never meant for PC, this is a clear crap console port, where even my PC with everything on low drops below 60 FPS several times AT 1080p!!!
I’m playing tons of other demanding games at 1440p almost maxed out and always around the 60 fps mark. The menus are bad, the controls for mouse and keyboard are terrible, and not just the flying part, the optimization is none existant and even when you turn motion blurr off, there’s still some constant blur anyway and for a shooter where you should be meant to aim, the FPS is constantly dropping to horrible levels and there are constant huge explosions and screenshakes and flashes non stop, just terrible.
This game was clearly built to be played at 30 fps with a controller. Not a game for me, and I’m really sad that Bioware just keeps getting worse. I miss the times when the old Bioware Doctors were around. This is just EA crap.
we all know you downloaded it from fitgirl, no shame in that.
Well why not be ill try it anybody wanna co op?
Think I’ll forego the inevitable disappointment, and jump right to skipping this …… thing.
this abomination you mean.

Fireworks.
It is the Watch Dogs/The Division downgrade all over again.
This crap has to run on xbox and ps, don’t forget that, as long as dev keep their main focus on consoles, we’ll always have downgrades, either they focus on PC (like it was previously) or consoles surpass high-end PC in terms of performance, and we all know that’ll never happen.
Feels Bad Man 🙁
Yea, IPhones look good outside but are rotten when it comes in usability
This game has been downgraded to sh*ts & no one is talking about that fact.
Dude it got Watch Dog’d. That game like nothing like the game they first showed and it just slowly gets worse.

I just tried it for about 30 minutes, bunch of rubbish. Turned off motion blur and it felt like it was still on, and WTF with the loading screens, it’s like Skyrim 2011 again where you get a loading screen when going into a cave. Cheers I’ll have my 40Gbs of SSD space back thanks.
Edit, the game looks much better if you turn Post Processing to medium, don’t get the motion blur look.
Downloaded and played the game for a bit.
It’s as average as I’ve been saying it is. Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible, nothing in it to suggest it will be hardcore in any aspects, and nothing in it that I would play.
This game really does appeal to the average video game player, the ones who don’t obsess over games, who don’t know much about game design, and especially those who just come home after work and want to play some video games before they go to sleep.
This game certainly appeals to those people in strides, and the game does have The Destiny crowd to sop up right now who are waiting for Destiny 3.
I see this game doing very well despite what people are saying about it. It will not fail even though people desperately want it too, and it will’s be a financial success.

Just going to say this but don’t get me wrong, I play some third person games such as Dark Souls, Batman Arkham series, Mad Max with controller on PC because it feels better to me, the way you control the character and such it feels more “comfy” to put it with a word. But some other games perhaps more heavily focused in weapons and shooting are way better with Keyboard and mouse combo like for example Warframe, The Division, Resident Evil Revelations 2, etc. That is how I feel those kind of games depending the input it has with keyboard and mouse or if it really is “important to play” with that particular setup.
Said this, the experience with Anthem was terrible with Keyboard and mouse, it felt unresponsive and even aiming felt weird like way off. Not sure what they done (well…not too much judging at how bad it plays with k/m combo) but it is bad.
I was talking to a friend and asked him if he tried with controller and he told me that “no” so I told him…going to plug it and try before uninstalling…and yup…another game that once you plug the controller it feels more connected to the action. I literally played better with it, flying was seamless and controlable, triggers and such felt just right. The whole game went from garbage to something playable and “fun” within seconds.
Again don’t get me wrong but it is how it is in my opinion. I play on PC and consoles since early 90’s and my latest console was the PS3 which is collecting dust right at the side of my PC literally, but I always have a controller with me for things like this and for some games of course (like PES/Fifa/Rocket League and those third person games that to me feel better with certain devices). (same as having a wheel G27 to play racing simulators or my Hotas for Elite Dangerous or FSX)
It was day and night to me…yet will I get the game? Nope. I like the graphics but even if it played better with controller (which also says a lot of how little love they are giving to the PC version) I am not seeing it lasting for so long. The world doesn’t look that big to be filled with enough content to keep you busy for years as they probably want (and I’m talking content at release).
Great part of the game felt generic at best, even the environments have it highs and lows depending where you are and with those loading screens it doesn’t feel connected at all.
Is not a bad game, but contrary to previous BioWare games it lacks soul…you can tell they are trying with those cutscenes but again, it all happens in the HUB and it feels like they made the Normandy with some characters here and there waiting for you to trigger some dialogue and done, then when it comes to actual story and content while you play missions are given and it is as simple as go here, do this, finish it and then a loading screen instead of a cinematic explaining what you have done and stuff like that. Soulless game, sadly.
PS: Hope I don’t get bombed because of being honest at how it felt with controller compared to keyboard and mouse. 😉
Well it is a coop game man, if it had PvP with how it plays I won’t even touch it (have a Logitech G510 keyboard and Mad Catz M.M.O.7 mouse).
And yeah, console port which looks better on PC as they usually do. If you compare this at how Warframe feels…it is like another Galaxy. Warframe is amazing with keyboard and mouse, to me the best third person game when it comes to input and proper aim, fluid motion.
i sent them my credit card. when i have 60 euro on it i will play it.
Have fun dude, in my case i just install Half-Life 2 with MMod and it looks insane and just like you say a simple pure SP experience 🙂

The only thing Anthem really has going for them is good graphics + loot grind (with no other gameplay waiting for you, then to endlessly keep loot grinding), which is a shallow/pointless and unfinished game. *Okay, I got item, now I can finally… pointlessly loot grind better with it? Yay?

Microtransactions have no place in the industry – ever. There are ZERO acceptable mobile models in AAA because this is the result of the scams and greed injected into the market. Being a game is not the goal of this product. The real product EA is selling is a game-themed digital Walmart or more appropriately like a Costco with their high cost fees for the privilege to shop.
As such, the EA Boycott continues with my gaming community. No one I know is buying it nor am I. We’ve been scammed too many times for far too many years this gen. None of the people I know were joking around with EA. That’s all over. And we are obviously not missing out on anything.
Should EA’s shareholders and execs ever decide to make a return back to flat priced, packed with content games – you know, actual games like all past gens – minus the microtransactions or chopped DLC gimmicks to scam everyone and do it consistently for at least a year, then we’ll talk.
Till then f*ck EA and their monetized scams.
Downgrade!
