The first Dead Rising is coming to the PC

Eurogamer has just revealed that the first Dead Rising will be coming to the PC. According to Eurogamer, Capcom has confirmed that Dead Rising will be coming to current-gen platforms (PS4, Xbox One and PC).

Eurogamer did not reveal any release date or what changes will be made to the game. Our guess is that Capcom will officially reveal more about this re-release in the coming weeks.

The first Dead Rising is an open world survival horror beat ’em up game that was released exclusively on Xbox 360.

In Dead Rising, players take the role of Frank; a photojournalist who ends up trapped in a shopping mall in the fictional town of Willamette, Colorado, that is infested with zombies. Frank must defend himself from zombie attacks, rescue survivors, contend with crazed psychopaths, and stay alive while still attempting to uncover the truth behind the incident.

    1. I just want to play this with a trainer just to explore. The 360 game was so great when it came out.

      1. Yep, I just hope I can pick it up along with DR3 soon. I’ve been holding out on that one since there were some performance issues which apparently needed to be patched out first.

        1. DR3 is still locked at 30 fps. You can unlock it with an ini file, but the game doesn’t stay at 60 regardless of hardware.

          1. Sure, it stays above 30 fps but you’re stuck playing the game at a locked 30 fps or having it fluctuate all over the place between 30-60 fps, which isn’t great even on a G-Sync monitor.

        2. Still has major performance issues unfortunately. I was hoping to play co-op with my other PC, but not going to happen. Of course a dual core and a 570 are not that powerful, but to get 15 – 20 fps with every to low or off and even using an extreme low quality mod is ridiculous. On my i7 and 680 it’s playable, but def not 60fs playable.

          1. Not sure whether DR3 has a XB1/PS4 version, but the reality is all 3 games are getting 64-bit versions for these consoles, and so is the PC.

Existing PC owners of DR2/3 should get such upgrades, for free, as the XB1 owners are with the fake “backward compatibilty” scam MS have pulled. The old game isn’t actually playable, it’s a free 64-bit remaster, accessed by using the old disc.

No different to all the sold remasters, just marketing hype, used to fool people at E3.
Only games upgraded in this way are playable, so they are selected by MS.

All such remasters are exactly like Witcher’s Enhanced Editions, and they should be a free update to existing owners on every platform, and only sold to new customers.

Then just like I do with CDPR, I will pay full price for their next release, and all expansions. While those that try to resell the same game again, only succeed in losing a sale for their next game.

I have more than enough games to play, I don’t need to get them ASAP, and experience teaches me, waiting until later, gives me a better game.
Often they are only finished, if they ever are, many months later, even years, when a “Complete” edition is released.
Especially with multiplayer, where if nobody’s playing a few months later, it was never worth playing at all.

  1. And with that, the Xbox 360 becomes more of a useless brick than it already was! Red Dead Redemption is literally the only game keeping my console from getting the business end of a sledgehammer.

  2. “The first Dead Rising is an open world survival horror beat ’em up game that was released exclusively on Xbox 360.” Well kind of The Wii got a port to!

    1. Onimusha 1 and 3 have crappy PC ports and 2 can be played with emulator, but yeah, remastered versions would be nice.
