Dying Light 2-new-5

Techland promises to share fresh updates about Dying Light 2 in 2021

Back in May 2020, Dying Light 2’s lead game designer, Tymon Smektala, claimed that the game is in its final stretch of development. However, and since then, we haven’t heard anything about this title. Nevertheless, Techland has issued an update, claiming that it will share more details about Dying Light 2 in 2021.

dying light 2 news 2021

In January 2020, Techland announced that the game has been delayed. And, as we predicted back then, the game was most likely targeting a 2021 release date.

Dying Light 2 will be using the C-Engine, a new generation of Techland’s in-house technology. As the devs have noted, this engine will be ideal for open-world action-adventure and action-RPG games. The game also aims to bring to life a unique post-apocalyptic vision of the Modern Dark Ages.

It’s also worth noting that the game will be using Ray Tracing effects. Since this is an NVIDIA-sponsored game, my guess is that it will also take advantage of DLSS.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Thanks for the non-news Johnny! You can write the same article about Elden Ring too if you want 😉

    1. he did but they fired him as well from vampires 2, which looks like mess by the way on “Sexual allegations”

i saw years ago some writer on this game whining about “anti white” stuff saying that its all nonsense and there is no attack on white people and dying light 2 wont be “just a another white guy story”

      so be careful.

  2. If Techland pulled off what they promised, I bet you this game will be a much better game than CP2077 but because it doesn’t have the hype that CP2077 has, it will sell less.

      1. Come to think of it it really is. I still remember the time in the game when I climbed bus on a bridge swarming with zombies and I was fending them off with fervor when about 5 of them were trying to get on top of the bus and kill me.

Original Dying Light has one of the best if not THE best first person melee combat. Which is why it was so satysfying fighting them. Nothing in Cyberpunk even comes close to those sensations of pure panic and enjoyment of my actions I felt on that bus.

CD Projekt Red really can not make a game with an engrossing and satysfying gameplay. I think they are better off making Naughty Dog-styled games aka interactive movies.

P.S. Played it on PC about 1-2 years after it came out. ISntalled a mod disabling Chromatic aberration (stupid postprocessing effect) and had a blast. The game instantly looked better than stock.

        1. Yeah I installed a few mods and replayed in co-op last year. That game was a really good investment and I was surprised they still had new dlcs coming out. Here is hoping they don’t screw up DL2.

    1. This could be true. I stayed away from the CP2077 hype and am now loving the game, though I’ll admit it’s obvious cuts were made in the side stories. 3080 with RT psycho is awesome.

  3. Why not just update us now? Who the hell makes a vague release timeline for an “update”…just tell us what’s going on and when it’ll release. Seems silly to me.

  4. This and Bloodlines 2 are suffering from bad Karma for going along with Chris Avellone defamation and slander with fake metoo sh*t. Good riddance.

  5. this is how you develop a game. You shut the f### up and just work on it. Talk about it when it’s near ready. CDPR bragging about cyberpunk every damn week was fn annoying
