Reddit user thomasthe1st has recently posted that Steam is removing hundreds of games from the store, according to the list found on madjoki.com’s Steam tracker. This is probably due to the upcoming Steam autumn sale.
Most of these games are cheap independent titles from small developing teams. Many users were asking for a cleanup for a while now and it seems Valve actually took action.
Of course if you check the list of banned games, you will see Valve did indeed delete games before, but never on such scale. So let’s hope Valve will continue to moderate content and keep the store clean.
According to our counts, Valve has removed 1016 apps (this includes DLCs) from the Steam store.
Looking at the publisher and developer strings, many different ones were removed (but it could be one developer using different names).
