Star Wars KOTOR Remake is reportedly under development by Aspyr

In January 2020, we informed you about a rumored Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game. And yesterday, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claimed that this KOTOR game is real, and is basically a remake of the first title.

As Schreier said, Aspyr is currently working on a remake of the first Star Wars KOTOR game. Aspyr ported a number of Star Wars games on various platforms, so this should surprise most of us.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any more details about this Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

For what it’s worth, in 2018 Lucasfilm shut down a fan remake of KOTOR in Unreal Engine 4, Apeiron.

Lastly, owners of the original game can go ahead and download a 3GB AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for it. This texture pack overhauls every NPC and armor textures in the game.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. All I hear from AAA industry news is remake and remastered.I think this industry creatively bankrupt. Nowadays I don’t feel like gaming anymore…

      1. All Western “indie games” are pozzed SJW garbage. Do not support anything made by SJW devs, which basically means stop playing Western games. Play only based Japanese games.

          1. not even an sjw. If playing thumper, the upcoming biomutant, enter the gungeon, mass effect 2, and halo 3 on PC then I am an sjw 🙂

          2. What you just said is a Flat out lie and you know it, which just proves yiure a blatant sjw.

    1. I agree with you mostly, but if I can play a better version of a game I never played, I am all for remasters and remakes.

  2. KOTOR II sequel or even a re-imagining/reboot would’ve been nice instead of a straight same’ol remake.
edit: Oh its Aspyr. Only known for porting games to MacOS and iOS and some other minor Remasters.

      1. True Crime LA -> True Crime NY -> True Crime Hong Kong -> Sleeping Dogs -> Where’s Sleeping Dogs 2?

And don’t forget The Getaway and The Getaway: Black Monday

  3. first of all aspyr still exists? Second of all, they keep remaking old games and censor them, proving they are talentless hacks.
