Below you can also find the the key features of this new update.
Star Citizen — Alpha 3.9: Locked Up & Loaded Update Highlights:
Unified Friends List:
Group play is getting a major upgrade. Moving forward, contacts and friends from Star Citizen Spectrum (CIG’s proprietary out-of-game communications platform) will be unified with in-game contacts. Therefore, connecting with fellow pilots and forming parties from either platform has never been easier!
Klescher Automated Prison:
Actions now have consequences. Players incapacitated by security forces or bounty hunters will now find themselves serving hard time in prison. Thus, you can pay off your debt to society by doing manual labor, or make plans for a daring escape.
New Babbage Landing Zone:
This brand-new landing zone and trading hub is now open for business! Located on microTech and home to the company’s flagship store, New Babbage features an extensive transit system with lines connecting all major hubs. Open spaces are enclosed by protective domes, shielding citizens from the planet’s freezing climate while offering spectacular views of frozen lakes and azure skies.
New Mission – The Price of Freedom:
In an all-new mission, some unlucky outlaws have been captured and are catching a ride on a prison transport. Players have been hired to board the ship, fight their way past security, wake these unfortunate individuals from cryosleep, and if possible, eliminate the turncoat who got them captured in the first place.
New Ship – Esperia Prowler:
The Prowler is a near-perfect recreation of the infamous dropship that battled UEE forces throughout the Tevarin Wars. Elegant, advanced, and effective, it embodies the unique Tevarin approach to warfare and organic vehicle design. The Prowler is the first Tevarin-derived ship ever offered on the Human market. Find out more about the Esperia Prowler here.
New Player Status System:
Player immersion reaches new levels, as blizzards and snowstorms are now more than just a visual effect. “Weather locomotion” now provides wind force resistance to player characters and ships in the atmosphere. In addition to monitoring temperature, the new player status system also measures hunger and thirst. Eat and hydrate to stave off starvation and thirst while taking advantage of specially designed suits to maintain an ideal body temperature in harsh environments.
New Weapon Attachment UI Feature:
Ground combat also sees major improvements. Players can now make adjustments to weapon attachments on the fly without having to navigate through inventory menu systems. Therefore, you can make quick changes to scopes and attachments on the go and stay in the action.
Enjoy!

nice
this will never come out.
It will… When people stop buying 500$ ships, otherwise from a dev perspective, why the hell release a game when the Alpha build already makes tons of money ? There are teams who spent 50000$ on their virtual fleet, i swear those people exist, i wish it was a joke…
Not team but Organization counting more than10 thousands member IE 5 $ per head. Also fill free to share the name or this 50K$ organization. I will contact them to double check 🙂
Do you really doubt the $50,000 invested by a Organization? You know some of their packages cost in the thousands of dollars and then there are upgrades, virtual plots of land, nicknacks to decorate the hangars and merchandise. They even sell socks at $20 a pair.

socks at $20 a pair xD classic star citizen xD
whats next ? keychains for 19.99 ?
pathetic ….. looks like they are running out of options for scaming ppl …..
As any other religious group (see Joe Blowjobers? That’s how brainwashing works), they’ll find new ways easelly.
As any other cult of the Doom (see BFG and and and handful of others) that’s how brainwashing works: repeating the same thing again again, with a difference: that are lies, misrepresentation, obfuscation and vast noneducational about basics.
Hahahahaha… You never cease to amaze me dude.
You talk as the “game” you defend so much was the next great marvel of the earth. I find it hilarious and I know it’s quite normal for parrots.
Which is precisely what I just never do: pretending SC it the best thing done by mankind in the last two centuries.
You said parrot?
So indeed you throw 50K$ like others are throwing 45K$ fake video refund a couple years ago?
Selling ships is weird… but selling merchandise is also weird… by the way socks is not what people are buying the most, shirt, mugs… yes socks not so much.
Also at what point did you missed you have full control on your own wallet and don’t have to spend more than a starter package at 45$ or… not to buy what you do not want?
I am an early backer and subscriber… I did not bought socks at 20 and will not at 5$…
You know very well that some people are spending crazy amounts on ship packages. They even have a package that includes all of the ships in the game for $27,000. That’s stupid on so many levels. The biggest reason is that there will be no time to get around to playing the game with all those ships and getting good at piloting any of them.
Roberts has turned this project into a printing press for money. I used to speak highly of the Star Citizen Project but later just took a neutral position on it and now I am speaking negatively of it at times.
Going from their funding page they have taken in just under 280 million dollars and there are 2.5 million Star Citizens. That means that the average is $110 per citizen. Maybe most of them bought the starter package but clearly some are spending thousands of dollars.
Since you regularly play the game you must have seen some of these huge ships that cost thousands.
You know very well that the 27K$ (unless you are throwing number without knowing to what they refer to like for the fake 50K$?) was created on an Org leader request and there is no proof it have been sold more than once (because all transactions are tracked per hour- no other 27K$ purchase of this pack have been detected even by SC haters… which say a lot about the fact it did not happen).
Your remark about individual unable to learn how to pilot ships is really out of world. So an org made of 10.000 members, can’t have any how to pilot? That is such a bad statement… especially knowing not all backers want to be a pilot of every single ships but trader, bounty hunter, date runner, transporter or performing one of the multiple ship station (shield, missile, turrets…)
You other statement about CR is as well totally wrong. They don’t print money… they are making zero profit till at least SQ42 is released. All $ are used to pay +500 devs. If you look at printing turn your head toward Fortnite with 3 Billions in one year selling skins, 11 times what CIG got in 7 years.
About average pledge per citizen, yes there are what we call whales, I.E. guys with more than healthy financial incomes, spending thousands.
I play WOT since 8 years, I spend more than 1500$ over that time (a so called free game by the way)… and I am not a whale… just spending my entertainment budget wisely over year.
Don’t look further for the average per head. Many did bought a starter package, upgraded to another ships worth 50$ more and a few micro-transactions (outfit, cosmetics…). true for any MMO. The more a player stay in, the more he spend over years.
Since I play the game, there is currently no flyable ships costing thousands… not even 1 thousand.
Only three cost more than 1K$ and none is flyable….
I wasn’t aware that an Organization can buy packages and share the ships. Still the original point is possible. If an Organization has 10,000 members and on average they spent $110 then that is 1.1 million dollars so hearing of an Organization that have collectively spent $50,000 is very believable. Even if they all just bought the starter pack that would be 450 thousand dollars.
Believe what you want.
My explanation about WOT example and how people spend $ over years is enough to explain the total amount pledged.
Speculating about 50K$ is just that, speculation which does not make it a rule either you can apply to all Orgs or backers.
When a project (whatever it is, game or not) reach a volume of individual counting in +1 million and growing every day, the mass of small amount is always driving the boat, not a few more than healthy guys here an there spending more than the highest averagepledge.
Also your count is wrong. 27k / 10.000 + 45$ each does not make 450$ but 50$…
But then they would have to take turns piloting the ships in the package. From what I’ve read there are 117 ships in that package. If there are 10,000 members sharing that package then each member would only get to fly one of the ships rarely. Who would decide who gets to play the game and when and who would get to fly the powerful ships? Someone would have to work full time just on scheduling. Who would want that job instead of playing the game?
I think it’s far more likely that most of the 10,000 bought starter packages and some upgrades and a some bought the expensive packages. If I would want to join an Organization then I would look for one with at least some powerful ships.
10,000 members times $45 is $450,000 just for the starter packs and that’s not including upgrades or the likely prospect that some of the members bought packages that costs hundreds of dollars.
I believe it is very likely that an Organization with 10,000 members will probably collectively be closer to 1 million dollars so I don’t see why you believe that an Organization that is collectively spent $50,000 is unlikely.
Because there is an enormous gap between the total of individual pledges and org owning 50K…. Again no evidence this package have been pledges more than once over years of pledges.
You just prove that big package $ don’t drive the average pledges per backer.
One 27k package vs 450K of starter packages that could have been upgraded to twice that amount hence giving 27K vs 900K$.
The game economy is not driven by whales…
It’s a french “organization” or whatever you call it, a friend of mine is a member and has alone spent more than 1000€ on ships, so no that’s not 5 bucks a head, it’s way way more, i’ll get the organization name and edit this comment
EDIT : It’s called Prisma Dynamics
So one member spend 1k$ so it is now a rule equal to 1K$ multiplied by members? That more than a shortcut…
We perfectly know that many have spend more than a starter package over years, it does not make them whale. As I explain, playing WOT during 8 years I spend more than 1.5K$… and I am far to be financially a whale.
The sum over year plus growing number of backers is making the total amount not one package at 27K$ bought once
Like in any entertainment, game or not, you always those relatively small percentage spending more than any others and the mass spending per year a tiny fraction of it.
“so it is now a rule”
Never said that, i said i have a friend who spent alone 1000 bucks, there are of course people that spent less, but also a lot of people who spent much more
“small percentage spending more than any others”
Right, but that’s not a small percentage on SC, and the fact it’s a barely working Alpha with laughable content makes this even more sad
That is not sad as long you understand you support a crowdfunded model which by its very nature and definition, is to support a project through development till release.
Having bugs and crash or wipe during development is a surprise only for those not trying to understand how development works.
Yeah and that’s why the game is always delayed, once it’s released “the crowdfunding” model will be obsolete and people will no more spend 500$ on ships,
“not trying to understand how development works”
Nope i understand, but from a dev perspective, just as i said earlier, why release a game that is more profitable on Alpha ? Better keep it glitched to the bone and far from release as people are spending way more than they’ll ever spend after release because it’s cRoWdFundInG…
Anyway i’m waiting for Squadron 42, i’m just curious about the SP portion of the game, but SC will never get a single penny from my pocket
Fine so based on S42 release (that will be injected then in SC) you will have a good idea of what be on top of current SC plus all patch upcoming in between.
Not joining a project in Alpha is pretty common for many gamers so waiting it to reach each one level of expectations (a specific gameplay, beta or release) won’t change the very nature of MMO development process. This is fine.
I think the game will be finished one day so that CIG can cash in on
the gamers that won’t buy the game until it is finished. I’m one of those and I have seen quite a few people say the same. Then there are more and more people getting into PC gaming so there will be future sales as well.
The thing with Roberts all along is that he wants to release the perfect game but that’s not really possible. There will always be room for improvement.
If they finish this tech demo sometime in the future, it would be already obsolete compared to the current gen, so I don’t think it will ever come out as a finished product.
The next gen is arriving in2020 with new console. Consoles closing the gap from high end many years old PC’s.
You can say everything you want about SC missing specific gameplay like salvaging or big container transport but on the tech side they are the king of the hill for the upcoming 4K years graphics and pipelines specifically developed for SC.
But who says they’re gonna finish it for the upcoming gen?
As I said above, IF they finish this tech demo someday, it will certainly be outdated, since the ALPHA is already 7yo. But then again, the money you’re spending is yours (or dad’s but that’s none of my business), so you do whatever you think is best with it.
Oh Yeah?… ?
Survival mechanics
Into the trash it goes
yeah whats next ? battle royale ?
Year 2050 : star citizen alpha 15.9 is out
I just checked the RSI funding page and so far they’ve raised just under 280 million dollars.
Development Hell continues but still gamers are pumping millions of dollars into this game. It’s beyond me why gamers are still doing this.
If you check publishers behavior you would know they are not making 50/60 M$ games but the same amount plus hundreds M$ of investment, hiring, pipelines creation over two decades. With a major difference, publishers spend 60M$ on a game + 100 on marketing, CIG is using the 100M$ of marketing to make the game publishers don’t care to make…

My Crtl+C / Ctrl+v skill is as good as yours Lol:
LOL… thanks to proving my points about low level naysayer:
– Click-bait articles copying each other without a clue about what they are talking about,
– Reference to Crytek (another piece of Doom for sure)… by another click-bait article… proven wrong… nothing happened,
– So called poor management of CR bring a company with zero value years ago to +460M$ as per private Investor end of 2018… In it’s current alpha state, SC have more unique features packed than any released triple-A…
– At the same time, companies with Billions $ can’t even release proper games (Fallout76, Anthem…). Talk about mismanagement…
– Click-bait articles or “journalist” compiling old memes and name it “article” with of course the inevitable “anon” source nobody but them have found….all that never stopped the fact several free weeks per year available to anyone did resulted in ten thousands more New backers at every patch, more pledges, more contents…. try harder.
And about prophets of Doom… enjoy 🙂

– Click-bait articles copying ………..
so the 4,7 million apartment is also just a Click-bait article ???????
For sure… as no one is able to tell whether it was paid using a loan,
amount of the loan… Not counting such amount for the region is below
average… and the fact CR and Sandi are seniors with a life of various
revenues.
As I said, BS journalism…..
a guy makes millions and buys a super expensive house ….
Joe Blobers be like nah its not from the scam citizen money its his on personal loan and sh.t
logic 101 ,

keep up the money guys and papa will buy a long vacation on bora bora
this is also fake news right ?
A nayasayer/hater use a vacation picture showing a couple renting a boat for a day… like ten thousands of others individuals are doing every year… not forgetting the fake comment on the picture.
… perfect example of hater doing its daily job. Thanks!
ike ten thousands of others individuals are doing every year …….
…..oh everyone is dooing it so its ok ……
hey wanna found my space game ? i also wanna be on a yacht
comoon guy it will be done in the future . here look at this roadmap …
Not everyone … But ten thousands every year since decades. There are not everyone nor they need to be multi-millionaires… just few hundreds per head… which is much less than thousands $ for one final football league seat for a match lasting 2 or 3 hours.
Those supporters are not millionaire either genius 🙂
yeah everyone can do it its ok . not big deal its ok for roberts to have some fun on a yacht and buy a 4,7 mill house ITS ok . everyoen can do it to its ok …..
It is ok you are a rambling discourse hater… it is ok 🙂
Yeah like you when you said last year that this year will be beta????
Still more accurate then “collapse 90 days top for sure!”… back in 2015 🙂
i never sad that but its colapsing even now …
The only thing collapsing is you… right now in front of readers 🙂
yeah or it could be worst .. i could be like you …. defending a scam game
Man… remove your lips from SC balls. It’s affecting your life and it shows.
LOL… @BFG low level hater got a fan 🙂
Cue both the ignorant/dismissive and the overly defensive yet poorly explained comments below.
gone are the days when i believed in this game, what huh i called it a game?!sorry it is a scam now.
Sure… That is why Calder’s family added +17M$ on top of previous investment because with all insight company information… they want to be associated to a scam.
+500 devs working hard: worst scam ever. Word have a meaning 🙂
+500 devs and they made 35% of the game in 8 years ……..
with this phase WHEN the game comes out it will be out dated as sh.t ………..
but then again what am i know about development ….
You know nothing and it shows… SQ42 being 50% of the project with beta in sight (not in 2050 or never lol) that give already 85% done… 🙂
i know for 100% you pulling thos numbers out from your chocolate starfish ………
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwjcY5AjOPE
look at roberts face … he dont know how to lie any more ……
… and now the psychological analysis of CR’s face by a naysayer… the same throwing 35% and then calling it “from a chocolate starfish”… Lol
making Star Citizen a success.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
more like making Star Citizen a succ
remember when ppl said 2018 that we will have a beta today ?
well its today … and we wil lhave a beta in ( random number )
@BFG… the good old naysayers… Remember: “collapse 90 days top for sure!”… back in 2015 🙂
it can colapse .
the are not making a game . they are making money …… and ppl like you are the reason why the game will never be done ever . cuz you will eat up everything they say ……
its like a sickness . they will never cure it for 100% …. because ppl will buy pills forever
LOL… You deserve your title of naysayer for a reason.
About sickness: … except that gamer are sick of publishers behavior releasing sequel of same re-skinned game over and over again, delivering as fully polished games that are not even good copy/paste (fallout 76) or to be rebuild from ground (Anthem).. multi-billions $ (per year!) companies… You proved numerous time you are uneducated about game development and finance and now about medical diagnosis 🙂
so your best argument is …. Scam citizen is sh.t but not as sh.t as Any othe bad AAA game ? wow thats low man …..
You proved numerous time you are uneducated about game development and finance what ?????
No the argument is that proven years old naysayers keep shooting the same crap and will keep doing after release because why not 🙂
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7c15ac48f26dc88189415e3bf5d6e52dd22fdaf51d12053ff34c1b253b2efa1c.jpg

yep he got that 4,7 mill house from his own hard earn money .. not from scam citizen account …
Keep trolling:)
i am not trolling . if i would troll i would support Scam citizen
The +1.2 individual backers thanks for calling them troll for not validating publishers behavior and enjoying supporting the game they want and get quarter after quarter.
hahahah xD you called scam citizen a game 😀 where is the game in that half finished tech demo ????
The +1.2 individual backers ???
and how many are in game ? not even 1% ???????????
keep digging. Supporting an Alpha does not mean you play it every day like a finished game will be. What matter is support not if 1% different backers are playing it every day… it would still be 100% after 100 days 🙂
Every SC discussion it’s you shouting scam and nonsense I’m starting to think this is Derek smarts acc hoping someone listens to his babbling
Ok well where is the game then?
remember .
next year ……..

Remember Fallout 76 (total crap… a broken copy of Fallout 4), Anthem (to be re-worked from scratch)… they were released as done and polished… Lol because date is everything for publishers and their followers… not counting the gazillion of “something of game Remaster” publishers announced for the upcoming years.
since 3.9 entered Evocati, then PTU to be released a day ago, roughly 4 weeks (hence bugs and crash because of the very nature of patch going through the debug process as all game development)… tested by backers through two successive waves including all backers:
+ 23.000 new account registered
+ 3.5 M$ new pledges
Not even during a brand new concept ship event.
… because of course all players are total moron not able to see what they test and decide that even during a patch debugging, it is worth to join. All moron but the handful of raging haters 🙂
Noita update, M&BII, SOR4 and now this, so much to play!
So not only does that new ship cost £300+ but you don’t actually get the game with it? I mean at least give the “game” with that absurd price.
All concept ship, at time of the concept pahse, are to support further the project and become more costly over time.
CIG did added many new different starter packages since kickstarter and it is very possible to pledge for one of them, then upgrade to for instance Prowler by pledging the difference between starter and new ship.
At the end you got both the ship you want and the game package.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I hope I can make money like this too.
But I would have to become a liar and a thief for that to happen, so I might continue poor like I am now. I’m not a scum.
Joe Blowjobers coming in 3, 2, 1…
Sorry to deceive you but I am not JB but made the choice to join years ago knowing perfectly this and I have no regret.
Good for you, so stay away. Game in development are not for all and everyone is free to buy another sequel from others companies more interested by quarterly profit sharing than quarterly patch of something that is trully ambitious and showing in 3.9.
Well, you’re the one who can decide what actions to do next with your money, so good for you that the “game” is what you expected so far.
scam shitizen fully released.
24 hours later –> doomsday.
