It appears that the open-world survival horror game, Sons of the Forest, is a huge success on PC. Endnight Games, the developer of this game, has revealed that the game has sold over 2 million copies in just 24 hours.

Sons of the Forest is an open-world survival horror game, and is a sequel to The Forest. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4, and uses new rendering & lighting effects.
In this game, players will be able to build bases & other structures. Furthermore, the game promises to have new enemy types (a whole new breed of monsters and cannibals). Not only that, but players can expect a few firearms that they can use (though there will be very limited ammunition). Despite that, though, the focus of the combat system will still be on hand-to-hand combat.
Do note that the game is currently available in an Early Access phase. So, the fact that it has already sold 2 million copies speaks volumes about the hype surrounding it.
Let’s hope that Endnight Games will keep improving things rapidly and that the game won’t stay in Early Acces for a long time!

i was the 5th to buy the forest back when it came out in early acess, and it was ok. this one im keeping away because it seems very multiplayer oriented , and i hate that
They have AI companions in game, mainly for SP players.

This is honestly, as far as ethics go, possibly the best launch of the year, the fact that some “pc enthusiasts” in this thread are talking trash about this game is peak idiocracy.

Nah not sure how we got to this point where naivety (or fake-(paid for) naivety) is so prevalent. So some indy game by the same people who did pretty much the same thing previously, which was jankyaf tbh stopped with that one years ago, sells 2mil copies in like 24hrs? Nah, this is just faf marketing-lying for media attention like this. But this is endemic now, if someone says something or shows some video, authentic or not, then it’s a fact automatically. Major AAA releases don’t sell 2mil in 24hrs, or they’re the only ones who do that IRL, either way. No real proof is ever shown, ie objectively verified by uninterested third parties. The steam reviews are so juiced faf it’s way obvious to non-zombies. The one or two real people reviews that get through mention the jankiness, empty, inanity etc jumasonic clown world sheesh
screeching soytubers love these kinds of games. the studio doesn’t even have spend a dime on marketing because e-celeb NPC’s will do it for free while making huge sheckels on lonely virgin viewers who feel less lonely when a soytuber screams in their headphones while commenting “awesome video, you’re my favorite soytuber” and “new video, time to open my bottle of soymilk” and the classic “I was about to go to bed but then I received the notification, no sleep I guess ahaha”
