Shadow Man Remastered releases on April 15th

Nightdive Studios has announced that their beautifully updated version of the ‘90s classic, SHADOW MAN: REMASTERED, will release on April 15th. According to the team, the game will be available on GOG, Steam and Epic Games Store.

Originally released in 1999 for the PC, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Dreamcast, Shadow Man Remastered follows Michael LeRoi. LeRoi is the current holder of the voodoo warrior moniker “Shadow Man”, as he battles the forces of darkness attempting to cross-over from their realm into the world of the living. Players will join Michael as he fights his way through the swamps of Louisiana, the back alleys of New York City, and the dark and terrifying land of Deadside.

Shadow Man Remastered comes with a bevy of awesome new features that take advantage of modern gaming hardware, including:

  • 4K widescreen support for the latest monitors
  • No more jaggies thanks to anti-aliasing and all sorts of other post-processing magic
  • A whole new visual experience with dynamic shadow mapping and per-pixel lighting
  • Never-before-seen content cut from the original game
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) rendering to really take advantage of modern displays

Stay tuned for more!

  1. I never played the full game as I never could get my hands on it back in teh day. A true classic tho!

P.S. – Now Im waiting for a confirmed release date on that Kingpin Reloaded

  2. Everyone should play the remaster if it is any good. The original game is an underrated gem. Not so much in gameplay (basically tomb raider with some extra stuff) but the oppressive atmosphere and allaround nihilistic but also funny tone is something to behold. HDR could be a gamechanger here as it was developed during a time when developers where playing around a lot with dynamic colored lights.

In the real world most people will probably be put off due to the archaic control scheme. Old games had more complicated control schemes and “modern” people don’t bother putting the time into learning.

    1. The most exciting thing about this remaster, that isn’t mentioned in this article, is that they reworked the control scheme. The game now supports dual analogue controls.

  3. Heh, I’m pretty sure you’d be singing a different tune if the exact same game were released today.

    1. those left nutjobs

I guess I’m one of those “left nutjobs”, since I’m quite far on the left of the political spectrum, but I still agree with your comment. Those on the left are as diverse as those on the right.

By the way, is that you back, or is it another Inner Conflict?

    2. I see. So if a black/yellow/green protagonist was placed in a context that would not uniquely define them as coming from a black/yellow/green culture, that would be leftist pandering? Generally speaking, of course.

  4. Honestly the nonsense in this thread. Did any of you actually play or finish this game I did back in the day and it is the epitome of a very average game. Not the classic or great people seem to think it was, It’s themes were good but the execution was poor.

    1. yes, I have finished this game and really liked it. Maybe not in 1999, but played it in 2013 for the first time.

  5. I bought this on a blockbuster going out of buisness sale for $5 on n64…This game was nothing amazing back in the day and I guarantee it hasn’t aged well at all. Just big dark empty box worlds.

    1. I rented this as a kid and all I remembered was the creepy atmosphere and not knowing wtf to do. Replayed it a couple years ago on an emulator and was pretty underwhelmed.

  6. Lol i thought i was in the article about that Fallujah game and reading these comments about voodoo etc i had a wtf circling my head. Then i actually opened my eyes and noticed where i was. Fun times.

As for the remaster, not really interested. The original was perfect and i would be all in for a total remake with new gfx, modern mechanics etc, maybe a sequel of some kind with a new story. But playing the same thing with just a few visual improvements? Not my cup of tea.

  7. “f*king sjw´s can go suck a c*ck.”
You should hate them, not give them something they love so much.
