Rumour: Activision is working on a replacement for Destiny, Call of Duty 2020 & Modern Warfare 2 Remastered

TheGamingRevolution, who is well known leaker, has leaked the games that Activision is currently working on. According to the leaker, Activision has a F2P COD game that targets a 2021 release. For 2020, however, COD fans can look forward to Call of Duty 2020 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered.

Now before continuing, we should note that TheGamingRevolution appears to be a reliable source. After all, TheGamingRevolution had successfully leaked information about Call of Duty Warzone, Black Ops 3 zombies maps and Modern Warfare in the past. So yeah, this is most likely a trustworthy source.

Alongside the aforementioned Call of Duty games, Activision has remasters for both Tony Hawk Proskater and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. Furthermore, a new IP is under development that will replace Destiny. Unfortunately, though, we don’t know much about it.

Last but not least, a PvP Crash game is also under development. Oh, and there is also a sequel to the latest COD: Modern Warfare game.

  1. Assuming the rumor is true, I wonder if Activision will still charge $40 for the remaster of MW2 for people that already bought MW2 like they did with the first MW remaster?

    1. im more interested on whether it will use the older game engine used on MW1 remake or whether they will use the new MW2019 engine.

    2. Even though it’s based on a game that already exists, remaking a game from scratch still takes a lot of money and time. Come on man.

      1. It’s just a rumor right now but the title of this article and the article itself are calling the upcoming MW2 a remaster. Not a remake.

      1. iirc the remaster was originally bundled with Infinite Warfare for $100. I believe that was the only way you could get the MW remaster at that time. Later Activision started selling the MW Remaster separately for $40. It still is $40.

The original is $20 and the full on remake is $60.

        1. Yep but during the 1-year support of the MW Remaster, they released a series of map packs too and that wasn’t part of the IW/MWR bundle.

  2. Most developers will give you the remaster for free or with a big discount if you own the original, however, most developers / publishers aren’t greedy fvks like Activision.

      1. Then that means it’s not a remaster. That’s what a remaster is supposed to do. Improve the textures, lighting, shadows, etc, while still remaining faithful to the original. A remake is a different thing.

          1. There was a remaster of the first MW and then later they made a full remake. The remaster was $40 a few years ago and then the remake of MW was $60.

There are actually 3 versions of the first MW now. The original, the remaster and now the remake.

  3. “Destiny replacement”.

Sounds like they got hella salty that Bungie left them and took their game, and that they want yet another cash cow, samey type game, but that’s Activision for you.

    1. Of course they’re salty, they have invested a ton of cash into Bungie and the studio couldn’t deliver a game, they had to get two other studios to create the content.

      1. Sounds like a regular day at Activision tbh. They don’t seem to fully care who and what they melt down.

Yes I’m still salty af about what they did to High Moon studios, and original Respawn.

  4. I haven’t played a COD game in a few years, and it is going to be hard for me to buy a new one if these games continue to have an always-online connection.
