Grey State Studio has just announced a new horror tactical free to play PvPvE shooter, called Rules of Engagement: The Grey State. To celebrate this announcement, the team shared a cinematic and gameplay trailer.

In Rules of Engagement: The Grey State, you play as a Strider, an elite operative sent into the Grey State to retrieve priceless artifacts. Your mission is to retrieve The Vertex and survive a nightmarish, lawless frontier with rival squads fighting for the same score.

All squads will deploy with only a basic loadout. Players will scavenge powerful gear before time runs out. Then, as the final showdown begins, players will have to decide to either leave early for a guaranteed payday or risk it all to hunt for The Vertex.

Personally, I’m not a fan of extraction shooters. So, I don’t believe I’ll be playing it. However, Rules of Engagement: The Grey State comes with an amazing art style. It also has a cool horror vibe to it. As the devs have noted, its environments will be filled with iconic monsters from books and movies. For instance, in the trailer, we get to see a monster that looks similar to a facehugger. We also get to see a monster that looks like Slenderman. This is a really cool twist that may make it stand out from all the other extraction shooters.

There is currently no ETA on when the game will come out. If you are a fan of this genre, you should definitely keep an eye on it. Its monsters will make it feel more interesting than other extraction shooters.
