Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games announced today that Respawn is working on three Star Wars games. The first game, as most may have guessed, is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. The second Star Wars game is a first-person shooter, while the third one is a strategy game.
As the press release reads, Stig Asmussen and his team at Respawn are already working on the next game in the action-adventure Star Wars Jedi series, and are joined by two new teams working to deliver additional unique Star Wars gameplay experiences across multiple genres.
Leading the development of Respawn’s all-new Star Wars first-person shooter game is Peter Hirschmann, Game Director at Respawn, who has a long and accomplished history with the Star Wars franchise. The third title is a Star Wars strategy game developed through a production collaboration with the newly formed studio Bit Reactor. Respawn will produce the new Star Wars strategy game while Bit Reactor leads on the development of the title.
Douglas Reilly, VP at Lucasfilm Games, said:
“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn. They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”
Sean Shoptaw, SVP at Walt Disney Games, added:
“Building on the previous successes of our EA relationship, this new collaboration highlights the trust and mutual respect shared between the world-class teams at EA, Respawn and Lucasfilm Games. Fostered by the expertise and passion within each team, we will create thrilling original games for diverse audiences across the Star Wars galaxy.”
Peter Hirschmann, game director at Respawn, also said:
“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell.”
Vince Zampella concluded:
“We are huge fans of Star Wars here at Respawn and we’re thrilled to work with Lucasfilm Games on new titles that we have wanted to make for years. If you want to make great Star Wars games, you should come join us on our journey.”

One company, which is kinda helming Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends, was assigned THREE projects at once?
Why so much workload? Pfft.
The strategy one is being handled by a new studio, Bit Reactor.
Respawn might as well be EA itself at this point.
That means the 100 people that worked there are now 2000
If that strategy game is not another and even Better Empire At war, i dont want anything thank you.
All Empire at War needs is better Ground Battles and a visual revamp
It’s still gold to this day
wouldn’t be surprised if this game turns out to be super woke, considering how Apex Legends is with a good chunk of the characters beings trans/ gay and minority
Most overrated ip in the world. I’m sick of this black & white crap, atleast if it has some nuance like KOTOR2 I can get into it, but man! It’s so bland..
I wonder is that strategy game is turn based for console/mobiles or a full blown PC RTS
IMO – The original movies were good… after that its been a mix of “Donald duck in the wrong universe” and a painful cattle-prodding of the corpse to earn a few bucks… The story in the latest iterations have been so painfully uninspired and so full of plot holes one have to wonder if they want the series to die and that is even before considering the obvious shoe-horned woke details that lowered it even further
