A rumor about Grand Theft Auto 6 surfaced earlier this week. According to that rumor, Rockstar would unveil the next GTA game yesterday. However, and as you know by now, Rockstar has not revealed anything at all. And while some believe that we may get some GTA6 news later this week, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier claimed that we won’t hear about the next GTA game for a while.
I don't expect news on the next GTA for a while
— Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) March 26, 2020
Jason Schreier is a reliable source when it comes to rumors. Thus, we’d take his word over some random user on 4chan any given day. So yeah, don’t expect any GTA6 announcement anytime soon.
Now this does not mean that Rockstar is not working on the next Grand Theft Auto game. After all, Schreier has not denied the existence of a new GTA game.
Let’s also not forget that the resume of an ex-Rockstar developer has already confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6. Bibin Michael who is an experienced 3d Game Artist stated on his resume that he worked on GTA6 (sometime between December 2017 and April 2018). Bibin Michael also worked in Red Dead Redemption 2, so this appeared to be a legit leak.
In short, there is a new GTA game in development. However, we won’t be getting any news on it for a while.

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

And I still haven’t played Grand Theft Auto 5.
It’s good for an open world game, but the gameplay itself is kind of monotonous in that genre.
its alright for 1 playthrough. but driving all the time from mission to mission… bleeeh… that gets old fast. only way i could want to play a game like that again is if it had mindblowing graphics where driving around would be sweet as f
same here.. not even interested
Rockstar’s game design is really dated, especially the mission design, hell even Ubisoft does a better job for the main missions of their sh*tty games, nowadays they’re only good at writing and designing detailed open worlds, because story and presentation is what mainstream automatic people are looking for, but all their games play like GTA III and it was fine until RDR1, after that GTA V and RDR2 felt just like stories on a big map, at least for the SP part.
I hope they’ll shake themselves for their next game, instead of just fulfilling the game with details and pay youtubers to do compilations
Ubisoft has been on the wrong track since AC4 and FC3. I am happy Ubisoft’s greed for the GAAS market is finally taking a toll. the problem with Ubisoft is that anything that might turn in a profit takes priority over their fanbase. they keep changing things up in their games in the hope that they might capture a wider audience but what they actually do is split the fan base by altering the longstanding elements that are essential to the identity of their games.
they switched genres with AC:O and FC5 and incorporated RPG elements (read: microtransactions) in order to make more moeny off of their games. a lot of people liked the last two ACs and they are RPG fans. I like a bit of an RPG myself every once in while but I don’t like new devs ruining the core formula (not the towers :D) that the original devs tried so hard to establish.
also, POP and SC are testament to how little they care about their fans’ requests.
100% this !! FC5 wasn’t really bad, but FCND was a real mess because of the forced RPG/GAAS elements, as for the 2 last AC games, i didn’t like any of them because instead of improving the formula, they just f*cked their whole identity
Anyway, i was just pointing the fact that they have better designed missions than GTAV/RDR2, and that’s weird considering that R* is much more appreciated and are considered like gods in the gaming community, which is absolutely wrong in this era with their actual game design
I wasn’t !
that jason dude doesn’t know either. not like Rockstar which has a ton of it’s employees’s working on it’s secret project is gonna call jason schreir up and be like… hey we are gonna announce this in a month so tell people asking that it’s not happening this week. that dude doesnt know anything. just educated guesses. thats all
I agree I’d also like to say the pedestal people put journalists on is concerning. No offense John.
honestly this game is no joke or secret that it’s being made. but there really is no reason to even announce or show it at the moment. it’s definitely a next gen game tho. i don’t think we will even see it till a year after the next gen consoles come out. gonna guess it will be announced march or april of next year if these next gen consoles do come out this holiday season which who knows will happen or not
Didn’t we basically get a dump of leaks confirming the game will be set in Vice City, hard to imagine the ship changing its course
